New data from BPI shows music is the UK’s most valued cultural output, with 27% placing it above film, TV, sport and everything else.

And it goes further than that. The data also shows that 75% of people say British music is a source of national pride.

And that matters to us at MVT because the music people value starts somewhere. It starts in grassroots venues. Small rooms, early shows, new artists finding their sound in front of real audiences, and where proper careers being built.

That’s the part of the system we focus on. Protecting the spaces where music begins, so it can grow into something that reaches far beyond them.
