Today’s job filming Professor Charlotte Williams OBE Academic Author Activist for an anti-racist training resource for social care workers in Wales. This resource has been written by Abyd Quinn-Aziz and produced by Atebol. As ever, on and off camera there were great conversations about continuing to build towards an ; decolonisation practices and poetry.

It’s Friday again and there hasn’t been an end-of-week desk selfie for a while! Production; Post-Production and Promotion for NWREN is what the week has been all about - some of the dozen or so short films from this series focussing on the lives and contribution of Black Asian and minority ethnic people in North Wales have already had some screenings as part of the wider Stitched Stories work facilitated by Suzette Smart and made by people…like us! at Pontio Bangor and Galeri and as the series heads to a wrap, the project will enjoy its official launch on May 8 as part of the wider exhibition April 29 - May 17 Not to worry if you don’t catch it though, there is also a wonderful project website designed by Marva Jackson Lord and Mohit Gupta where the films, stitched stories and resources will live as an ongoing legacy. Watch this space!

Well, entering the final week of production of a 10-film short project due to launch officially on May 8. I’ve been producing these films as part of an epic team NWREN and am so looking forward to finally being able to share these films as part of the wider resources! // Wel, mynd i mewn i wythnos olaf cynhyrchu prosiect byr 10 ffilm sydd i’w lansio’n swyddogol ar Fai 8. Rwyf wedi bod yn cynhyrchu’r ffilmiau hyn fel rhan o dîm epig ac rwy’n edrych ymlaen yn fawr at allu rhannu’r rhain o’r diwedd ffilmiau fel rhan o’r adnoddau ehangach!

In sunny Penmaenmawr today to film Professor Robert Moore for NWREN talking about his 60-plus years of race activism work in the field, as an author and academic. Robert shared his memories insights and experiences from the colonial, and post-colonial era, from listening to Malcolm X, from witnessing the births of the colonial freedom and anti-apartheid movements, through the early waves of mass migration, right up to the present era where Welsh Government aspires to develop an anti-racist Wales by 2030. What a conversation - and what a life well-lived!! And from there he went directly to another meeting to continue his work. He says he’ll definitely retire at 90, but I’m not so sure! Professor Robert we salute you!

Finally back at my Welsh desk after a number of different hotel and airport desks in Karnataka; Delhi and Dharamsala having filmed in the tropical South as well as the Himalayan North of India. Todays slate include post-production for ’s latest drop from Rosemarie who is from German-speaking Switzerland and talks about her love of Ladakh and its people and places, and starting editing on a short tribute film about the late much-missed political scientist and veteran race activist German-born Helga Uckerman for 🇨🇭 🇩🇪
