A little behind the scenes from Saturday’s session.

Started working on this custom dotwork mandala, designed from scratch and built up dot by dot. Still a work in progress, but I’m looking forward to seeing this one come together!

When I get asked why don’t I try doing fine line tattoos!

And here’s why:

Fine line tattoos can look great when they’re fresh, but I think a lot of people underestimate how they can change over time.

The finer and more delicate the line, the less room there is for the natural softening and spreading that happens as a tattoo ages. Small details can merge over time.

That doesn’t mean fine line tattoos don’t last! They can, but size, placement, skin, technique and how well you look after them all make a big difference.

Personally, I prefer tattooing work with a bit more weight, contrast and longevity built into the design.

Fresh tattoos look great… but I’m always thinking about what that tattoo is going to look like years down the line. 👌

What’s your opinion on fine line tattoos?

Portraits are one of my favourite things to tattoo, but they definitely come with their challenges. Getting the lighting, contrast, depth and little details right can make all the difference.

Celebrities, horror characters, film characters or someone personal — every portrait brings something different.

Some tattoos mean more than words can ever explain.
Today I had the honour of tattooing my client’s mum who sadly passed away. Portraits always come with a lot of responsibility, because they aren’t just about getting a likeness, they’re about preserving someone’s memory and the love that still lives on.
I’m genuinely proud of how this piece turned out, but even more grateful that I was trusted with something so personal.
Thank you for putting your faith in me. I hope this keeps her memory close, every single day.

Always good seeing a tattoo a couple of months down the line.
Fresh tattoos can look great, but healed tattoos are what really matter. This one’s settled in nicely, and I’m really happy with how it’s healed.
Massive thanks for the trust, and for taking the time to come back and let me get some pictures. It means a lot and helps people see what my work looks like once it’s fully settled.
