Words can’t describe how much TW means to me. I absolutely adore all of our students, whether it’s the student who stands at the front of class, runs up to me for a hug and can’t wait to tell me about their day, or the student who gives me a casual nod and prefers to stand at the back. I love getting to know all of these incredible personalities, the ones who thrive from tough love and the ones who grow best with a steady stream of encouragement and gentle nurture.
This show meant so much to me for so many reasons. It was a celebration of everyone at the dance school, past and present, but also of my own journey and childhood memories. Creating this wonderful community has truly been a dream come true.
Beyond the dancing, what really stands out to me is what I see when no one realises I’m watching. The children cheering each other on with constant encouragement. Solving problems together. Working as a team where age is irrelevant, older ones helping younger ones, younger ones looking up to those amazing role models, and former students coming back to support from the audience and in the wings.
I love watching, listening, and quietly feeling overwhelmed with pride and admiration for all of these incredible students. The backstage moments bring me just as much joy as the incredible routines the front of house gets to see.
I have been overwhelmed by the amount of wonderful feedback and I truly appreciate hearing it. It warms my heart to hear what Theatreworks means to so many children and families. Everyone has commented on how wonderful our teachers are, and I couldn’t agree more. Every single member of the team brings something different, their own flair, style, and personality, and they all care so much about the students.
I love showtime when we are all together and get to see one another’s routines. I love seeing the amazing ideas and choreography they create. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by so much support.
Thank you to all of the chaperones! You really are the true heroes of showtime, and I simply couldn’t do these shows without you. I love seeing all the backstage photos and hope you enjoy being part of the magic (as well as the chaos at times!).
Thank you to all the parents for continuing to support both myself and the school, and for sending your children to dance classes. I hope you enjoyed the show as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Finally, the biggest well done to all of our performers! You were incredible! It takes so much bravery to step out onto a stage, let alone go out there and deliver performances with confidence, poise, sass, personality, and so much more. I love it when the stage is full of your energy and you don’t even have to try to perform because you’re having so much fun that your face is naturally beaming.
Well done, everyone. I am blown away by you all! I cannot wait to see the next wave of progress between now and the next show, and all that we have to celebrate in between.
To our Year 11 leavers, I cannot wait to watch your journeys continue. Your Theatreworks family will always be cheering you on and supporting you every step of the way.
Thank you, everyone. I truly do feel very blessed ❤️❤️❤️
