After appearing at our tribute night last week Fiddlestone are now our special guest. Fiddlestone are regular guests at our club and have appeared many times since the very beginning at the Prospect, Castle and now our present venue. We love to have the lads here and they always provide us with a night of great music and song. T.

TRIBUTE NIGHT TO CHRISTINE GLORIA & PAUL.
Last night was a celebration and tribute to our dear friends Christine, Gloria and Paul. Relatives and friends of the three were present and the turnout was fantastic and that was with absentees who unfortunaly couldn't be there. With lots of singers paying tribute from near and far and our good friends in Fiddlestone and Wellcome Finnan and Chrimes to finnish off a lovely evening it was a night to remember. On the night our collection for Halton Haven was £540 so thank you all. Apologies for overunning on time, but this was a night that warranted it. Tony.

GUEST NIGHT MONDAY 11TH MAY
ANTHONY JOHN CLARKE.
Another great guest night last night with Anthony John & Julia.
Right from the off AJ had us singing along with I WANNA KNOW (what brings you here tonight) and we soon found out. With great chorus songs and plenty of banter and with Julia providing subtle backing on keyboard and vocals. My favourite on the night was the very poignant song IRISH EYES. Whether catchy, happy or sad songs, everyone enjoyed an exellent nights entertainment. Thanks Twigger for photos. T.

Our guest this Monday is singer-songwriter Anthony John Clarke. Anthony has been a favourite guest at the club for many years and along with his wife Julia they present an evening of music, song and laughter. Anthony John will give us an evening with a mixture of thoughtful, cheerful and humourous songs all the time being kept in check by Julia. T.

Another cracking night with our special guests with their tribute to Nanci Griffith. Lots of songs from the back catalogue of Nanci's career and a few more thrown in. Great harmonies from sisters, Cathryn and Angela and great guitar and mandolin playing and vocals from Clive. A fitting tribute to the career of Nanci Griffith. T.

REMEBERING NANCY GRIFFITH
HAYES SISTERS & CLIVE GREGSON.

A spectacular new show for all Nanci Griffith fans, with The Hayes Sisters & Clive Gregson. Sparked by an admiration for the late country & folk singer’s incredible catalogue.

Consummate guitarist, mandolin player and song-writer in his own right, Clive Gregson toured as part of the Nanci Griffith’s Blue Moon Orchestra from 1996-2007. Nanci’s version of Clive’s “I Love This Town” was released as a single in 2006 and became a radio hit in both America and the UK. Clive’s musical bio includes the cult band Any Trouble, a spell with Richard Thompson’s band and as half of the acclaimed duo Gregson and Collister.

The Stockport based sisters, Angela and Cathryn Hayeshave their own distinct style with sounds suggestive of The Roches and the McGarrigles. They have been long-time Nanci Griffith fans and their vocal interpretations of her songs are spot-on.

Clive got to know the Hayes Sisters whilst producing their debut album “Another Man’s Shoes”. A mutual admiration for Nanci’s great catalogue of songs sparked the idea of this collaboration and the trio are our special guests at Runcorn Folk Club.
