In a town centre littered with disused retail units, it would appear that Rugby Borough Council's Planning Department is more concerned about some 0.6mΒ² vinyl posters which we have displayed in prominent locations to promote our upcoming shows at The Benn Hall.
In case you didnβt already know, The Benn Hall is owned and operated by Rugby Borough Council. The council takes 25% of the income from tickets sold for our shows. To put that into perspective, in 2025 our dedicated and passionate teams of ππΌπΉππ»ππ²π²πΏπ generated just over Β£44,000 for Rugby Borough Councilβ¦not to mention additional income from booking fees and bar takings.
So our amateur productions (and the posters, banners, leaflets and social media posts that advertise them) are directly contributing to the salaries of those sat in the councilβs Planning Department β yet those banners, which were designed by ππΌπΉππ»ππ²π²πΏπ and distributed by ππΌπΉππ»ππ²π²πΏπ, have resulted in our being issued a ππππππ ππ

ππππππππ by said Planning Department, who have taken the banners down.
We are sure that everybody else in Rugby is just as horrified by our unpaid spirited attempts to provide cultural opportunities for the people of our borough and to drive people into our town centre. Or perhaps there are others who are just as confused and shocked as we are to be treated in this wayβ¦
