Some great memories were made on Saturday as Loud Poets landed on Bute to wow us all with their knowledge and performance skills. Based on the survey of our audience - this may well have been a first for Bute! Once again, our young people demonstrated commitment and courage as they performed superbly. Well done all!

Bute Youth Theatre begin our 2025-26 academic year next week, with some spaces available for new starts.

If you have a dramatic child in your home - we may be able to help! Please get in touch via email or WhatsApp.

Dates for this term are:

Wednesdays:
17th, 24th September
1st, 22nd, 29th October
5th, 12th, 26th November (Not on 19th November)
3rd, 10th December

These days are for after school on Wednesdays, years P1-P5 (minimum age 5)

Thursdays:
18th, 25th September
2nd, 23rd, 30th October
6th, 13th, 27th November (Not on 20th November)
4th, 11th December

Thursdays are also after school for those in years P6-S6.

The Drama Studio now have adult workshops for those aged 21 and above on the following dates…

Adults: Wednesday: 24th September, October, 1st, 22nd, 29th, November 5th.

Once, a 6 year old Faye Turpie Laird (holding the fishing rod in the photo) walked into my studio and said she wanted to be an actress. It has been my absolute honour to walk with her throughout her relentless pursuit of this ambition. As director, co-performer, family friend and mentor - if there has ever been an individual more deserving of the offer of a place she has just received from RCS, I have yet to meet them. It cannot be overstated how hard Faye has had to work to get to this most decorated drama school. As a distance learner with our own Bute Drama Studio we took our show to The National Festival of Youth Theatre in 2022 - completely written, directed and produced over Zoom, our show was the absolute highlight of a very tough few years. Faye officially becomes first RCS student at BA level! A big day - that belongs to her! Go Faye - you are the perfect role model for all those who dream of following in your footsteps.
