To celebrate International Friendship Day yesterday, we invited all of our staff and volunteers across both Peterborough and North Devon into the theatres for a lovely coffee and cake morning! 🍰☕

Landmark Theatres operates two busy venues in each location which mean our paths don't always cross as often as we'd like, so we had the best time catching up with our incredible team over tasty treats, and experiencing the power of connection 🙌

International Friendship Day arrives every July 30th, created by the United Nations to recognise the profound impact of friendship in promoting peace and unity. This day encourages us to celebrate the bonds that bridge cultures and foster understanding. It was also a great excuse to enjoy some well deserved cake, and reminded us how important putting on these events is.

Wednesday 8th July was our national press night for 9 to 5 The Musical, and what a night it was! 🤩

It's been brilliant to have the incredibly talented cast, crew, and creatives of 9 to 5 The Musical in Peterborough for the past few weeks, and we loved celebrating the opening of its national tour at the New Theatre 🙌

Ahead of the performance, our invited guests enjoyed refreshments and themed photo ops in the Boizot Lounge, as well as a speech from our CEO & Creative Director and 9 to 5's Director Paul Jepson. He talked about Landmark Theatres' mission in ensuring everyone can access large-scale high quality productions in the places they live, and what 9 to 5 means to him.

We then headed to our seats to see this amazing production, which deserved its standing ovation from our packed auditorium 👏

After the show, the 9 to 5 team joined us in the Boizot to celebrate their success with guests, friends, and family. We are certainly going to miss this musical in Peterborough as it closes tomorrow, but are so excited to share it with our Queen's Theatre in Barnstaple next week, and then the rest of the country through summer! 💖

We are delighted that beautiful Ilfracombe, home of our Landmark Theatre, has made the shortlist for UK Town of Culture 2028! 👏

Ilfracombe is one of just fifteen towns selected out of almost four hundred applicants, and the only entrant in Devon to have made it. It is an incredible achievement for the town, and we are very proud to have The Landmark, our lovely theatre, café, and arts centre, situated on Ilfracombe’s Promenade 🤩

“Investment in UK City of Culture and UK Town of Culture not only supports the delivery of exciting cultural programmes but brings a legacy of cultural regeneration. Landmark Theatres are delighted to announce our next musical, Seriously Twisted, coming 2027! 🩸

It's musical inside a murder mystery with a killer twist – written by the award-winning Heather Brothers 🤩

Welcome to Paradise Lakes, home of The Old Mill Theatre and the coolest summer camp. When a cast of high school performers begin rehearsing their slasher musical, they expect fake blood, killer songs, and plenty of laughs. But the line between fiction and reality begins to blur, and friendships are tested, secrets are unravelled, and suddenly everyone is a suspect.

Leaning into the iconic slasher films of the 90s with a wickedly dark comic edge, Seriously Twisted is packed with unforgettable characters, shocking twists, and original music by the Heather Brothers.

An award-winning team of playwrights and musicians, with a number of hit musical shows to their name including A Slice Of Saturday Night, which broke all records at London’s Arts Theatre ahead of enjoying over 300 productions worldwide.

This August, we're delighted that our summer school will be returning Barnstaple after its success in 2025! 🎭☀

The Landmarkers is a six-day summer school where children and young people (9-18 years) will learn high-quality musical theatre skills, work alongside industry-leading professionals, experience life inside a professional working theatre, and perform a brand-new musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet – created especially for young performers by award winning playwright Laura Horton! 🌹

We are also proud to announce the Little Landmarkers - our brand new strand for younger performers (6-8 years)! It follows the same schedule as the main summer school but takes place at Bridge Chambers. On Saturday, Little Landmarkers will join the older children and young people and be part of the performance at the Queen’s Theatre.

Summer school runs from Monday 17th to Friday 21st August, with the showcase on Saturday 22nd. More info at queenstheatre-barnstaple.com 🤩

Last Friday 22nd May, our beloved Key Theatre reopened its auditorium doors after almost a year, following the completion of essential roof works 🎉

The Key Theatre is a cultural cornerstone for the community in Peterborough, and we are beyond thrilled to be able to offer a huge variety of programming and events in this important and loved space once again.

Audiences raised a glass to the Key while enjoying two incredible performances; Images Ballet Company performed Swan Lake, while Peterborough Playgoers brought Cluedo to life to our sold out Studio theatre space! 🔎🩰🥂

It was a busy and brilliant evening, and we can't wait to continue making happy memories as the Key Theatre returns as a vibrant cultural hub for audiences, artists and the wider community.
