Many of our young performers grew up receiving books through Dolly’s Imagination Library and now they’re honouring her legacy on stage in 9 to 5 The Musical, a show she not only starred in but wrote the music and story for.

🌟 A Special Message to Wickersley Youngstars! 🌟

As we prepare to bring 9 to 5 The Musical to the stage this October, we were thrilled to receive a special message of support from Vivian Panka, who played Judy Bernly in the third touring production of 9 to 5.

Since making her English-language stage debut as Judy in 2021, Vivian's career has gone from strength to strength. She has starred as Heather Duke in Heathers: The Musical, appeared in the professionally filmed stage production of the show, and is currently receiving widespread acclaim as Regina George in the UK & Ireland Tour of Mean Girls, making history as the first Black performer to play the role full-time.

To have someone with such a strong connection to Judy and the show take the time to send her good wishes to our cast means a great deal.

A huge thank you to Vivian for taking the time to encourage our talented performers as they continue rehearsals towards opening night. 💜

💛 Remembering Dolly Parton

Today, Wickersley Youngstars joins the world in remembering Dolly Parton, an artist whose influence shaped music, theatre and storytelling for decades.

With our production of 9 to 5 coming up in October, her passing feels especially close. Dolly’s creativity and strength helped define the show we’re working hard to bring to the stage, and our cast will honour her legacy by performing with the same spirit and positivity she was known for.

Thank you, Dolly, for the music, the laughter, the courage and for reminding us all to dream big and lift each other up. 💛✨

🎤💖 We've had a very special visitor... well, almost!

As our cast gears up for 9 to 5 The Musical this October, we were thrilled to receive a good luck message from the incredible Kelly O'Brien... aka the closest thing you'll get to Dolly Parton herself! 🤩

Endorsed by the Parton family and recognised around the world for her amazing Dolly tribute, Kelly has even worked as Dolly's official body double for film 🌟

A huge thank you to Kelly for sending her best wishes to our talented Youngstars. We're sure the cast will be taking a little Dolly magic with them into rehearsals and onto the stage this October! 🎭✨

What a fabulous day we had yesterday! 💛🎭

Our Youngstars took a trip to see 9 to 5, and it was everything we hoped for.

The performance was fantastic, and it gave our cast a real burst of inspiration ahead of our own production this October. Even better… we got to meet the cast! 🌟

They were absolutely amazing, warm, welcoming and full of encouragement. We spent time chatting, taking photos, and they even shared a special message for our Youngstars!

And after a day like this, our cast are more excited than ever to bring their version of 9 to 5 to the stage. Tickets are already on sale and if yesterday is anything to go by, you won’t want to miss it! 💚✨
