Romsey Songbird

Romsey Songbird Romsey Songbird is a small women’s choir that sprang into life in 2022. We meet in Romsey on Monday afternoons.

We sing a wide range of popular music, with a programme that includes music from the 60s, 70s & 80s, songs from musicals, folk songs, classical songs and a few surprises. We are very pleased to have Marion Maxey as our Musical Director and Sophie Aynsley as our accompanist. We had a great night at Southampton Festival of Music and Drama. Big thank you to our wonderful MD, Marion Maxey, and Richard Stannard who accompanied us. It was also wonderful to hear so many other choirs - such a variety of music and such a high standard.

Romsey Songbird will be participating next week in the Southampton Festival of Music and Drama. The Adult Choir section takes place during the evening of Friday 20 March at St Peter’s Church, Eastleigh. It’s our first festival so please come and support us!

We so enjoyed singing at the Romsey Abbey Christmas Fair today. We already knew about our fabulous accompanist, Sophie, but we also discovered what a multitalented conductor we have when Marion downed her baton to play the flute descant on "Silent Night!".
