You don’t need to be “good at art” to come along to an art class.

My classes in Hampshire are relaxed, friendly and designed to help you learn new techniques whilst enjoying a couple of hours doing something creative just for you.

From realism to expressive painting, watercolour to pastels I cover a huge range of painting styles and mediums.

If you’ve been thinking “I’d love to get into art…” this is your sign!

I run two classes - Romsey 7-9pm on Monday evenings and Nomansland (New Forest) 10-12.30pm on Friday mornings.

Classes are £35 a session or discounted to £30 for 5 or more. Everything is provided for you, you just need to turn up and be willing to have a go!

“Cosmic cats” in watercolour 🪐😺🎨

I have a new series of little original watercolour paintings celebrating our great and powerful overlords 🐈.

I needed a reference for sizing, so yes… there was a fluffy paid actor involved. Unfortunately, he was less than willing to take direction 🙈.

These are available to purchase at my markets over the summer!

I’m excited to be returning to Trout n’ about this year!

I’ll be there (at the roundabout end) with all my latest artist creations- exquisite cards, high quality fine art prints and original artwork.

£10 parking (you can cycle in along the test way too!), the organisers advise to bring cash if you can as sometimes the networks get overloaded taking transactions!

✨ New painting! ✨

A puffin in watercolour on cotton paper.

I finally had the absolute delight of seeing these little beauties in the Farne Islands earlier this year, so a puffin was definitely going straight onto my painting list!

As you’ll see from my video at the end, puffins are actually tiny in real life! So there was no way I could paint one from my own photos (although I’m very grateful to the amazing wildlife photographers — both professional and amateur — whose reference images I use to help bring these paintings to life).

This little friend will be available to purchase at the Trout ‘n’ About Festival in Stockbridge this August, along with cards and prints.

Outdoor painting in the New Forest 🌳 ☀️🎨.

This was a perfect morning to paint outside! Every year I plan to get my classes outdoors in the summer to experience the joy of en plein air painting.

Choosing a spot to sit and which view to capture is one of the hardest parts! But once you’re sitting comfortably and soaking up the environment, it’s a really special experience 😌.

It’s something that can feel a little intimidating doing on your own, so to be part of a group feels a lot more comfortable.

There is a really lovely community that’s built up in my classes, and it’s great to see everyone enjoying their time together.

En plein air painting session in the park 🍃 🌳.

Every year in my art classes I try to plan a session to paint outdoors. This week we went to the park, for a lovely June evening to immerse ourselves in the outside and capture what we see in a painting!

There’s different challenges like, where to sit? What to paint? The light keeps changing! 🙈
But it’s a fantastic experience (and great in a group).

My aim with running these classes is about… making space for creativity, learning how to paint, growing connections and restoring wellbeing.

I’ve got a few more spaces available till July when we’ll be breaking for the summer, before returning in September for more artistic adventures!
