Good morning!

Last night Mike and Paul from Rayleigh Town Museum hosted our final event celebrating the both Cllr Elizabeth Brower chair of RTC and Cllr Simon Wootton chair of RDC came along to show their support.

It brought together some of the artists and venues who join the trail this year along with, Gold Geese Charity who we fundraiser for.

The Trail was not only about bringing the art scene, businesses and new footfall together, but was also to support a great cause.

Money raised from the amazing artwork on display The Mill Cafe that you could bid on, the Sip and Paint event The Half Moon - Rayleigh, Kids Pottery workshop supported by The Clay Cottage, plus donations from The Closet for the competition helped to keep outgoings down and final amount high.

I was really happy to announce last night that when all all is totted up, the event raised £1,750. Which is tremendous 💛✨

I plan on making the rest up to £2,000 with a further donation. This amount will help with so much of the needs of those going through cancer and their families too.

To our main sponsors and Rochford District Council a huge thank you. In order for the design work of maps, banners etc by Stuart Medcraft Graphic Design and to get everything printed by DXP Print Solutions we simply wouldn’t have the amount to give.

An extra shout out to Councillor Marianne Vernon, Laurie Edmonds & Gemma Haynes from RDC for their help during the last two weeks.

To the venues and artists, thank you and to all those who took a map and walked the trail, a bigger thank you! 🤩

Here are some images from last night and a video will be coming out later today for you to watch

Love
Caroline and Danielle x

What a fabulous final day for this years

Barbara, Lynne, Sophie and Chris all sold art work along the trail. 🥰

This makes it 3 pieces for Barbara whose work was in nail bar, Lynne was in Next Level Nutrition with the lovely Tia, Sophie was in Studio 3 Art and is our FIRST Cyanotype Sculpture piece to sell on the trail and Rita sold her 3 piece from Charcoal & Earth

They join Sharon Stone who sold out of Anglo Rayleigh Iain Cooper who sold two pieces from The Photo Shop of Rayleigh and little 'ol me who sold from The Secret Garden

12 wonderful pieces all found their way to forever homes on top of a HUGE awareness of all artists along the way on top!

We simply couldn't do it without the support of the venues who agreed to partner for this year and of course our sponsor Rochford District Council who covered the majority of the cost to run an event like this. We also had great support and funding from The Closet The Mill Cafe Studio 3 Art The Half Moon - Rayleigh Rayleigh Town Museum who also helped to cover costs, give their time for free and finally, I want to give a big shout out to Danielle Belton. Art by Stuart Belton & Marianne Vernon for their help in promoting or working to get this event up and running.

DXP Print Solutions were great in printing all the materials you've used and seen along the route and I still haven't forgiven Nick for almost giving me a heart attack! Stuart Medcraft Graphic Design did a wonderful job of designing the artwork and images used on Social media, as posters and maps for the route. It takes a lot of time on his part to pull this together too. Thank you both!

The next question is what impact the Art Trail leaves with you: has it inspired you to try art in whatever form that takes? If it has led you to a new business that you haven't been in before, then that's great.

Partnering like this on events helps to bring the community together and I'm very passionate about that. Use our high street venues and support them as much as the local art scene and hopefully, funding for next year will be secured for 2027 and it will be even bigger than this year!

Finally, the charity aspect. Later this week I'll know how much we will have raised to donate to Gold Geese Charity All the artwork bid on over at the Mill Cafe will be linked with the winning bids and this will be the final part of the fundraising efforts.... watch this space!

I'll sign off for today but thank you all for supporting Rayleigh Art Trail.

Love Caroline x

Look at those happy faces!

Thank you and well done to all the children who came along to the Arty Pots event at the WI today.

You all did a great job and we hope you enjoyed creating your new artwork.

A HUGE thank you Art by Stuart Belton, Danielle Belton. and her sister Marie for helping to organise this event and to The Clay Cottage at Lubbards farm for donating ALL the equipment to help support the event and the charity. Remember all the ticket charge will go directly to Gold Geese Charity so today another £135 was raised for them.

For more ways to play and paint with the kids, grownups and all abilities go and check out Clay Cottage and keep the creativity flowing!!

Morning!

Penultimate day of this years Rayleigh Art Trail and these two gents are artists displaying in two different venues in the high street.

Rich Shelly’s work can be found in The Board Room Darts 21B on the map - his work is a mix of text and images in different ‘canvas’ - could be an actual canvas or a skateboard… real abstract and brilliant!

Next is Chris Burrows. He works in Pastels and you can find examples of his work for sale in Kirbys Coaches 19 on the map. fun fact: Chris is colour blind! I’ve known Chris for years and still can’t quite get my head around that! Amazing detail and accuracy in his work!

Both artists have donated a piece for the silent action over The Mill Cafe so go bid and see if you can win OR visits both venues and buy local artwork from two very talented and different artists!

Finally to all those going to the Arty Pots event at the WI today, have the best creative time! ✨

Thank you Stu Belton for hosting and arranging the event with co organiser of the trail Danielle Belton.
