Mindgame
by Anthony Horowitz

A prominent author of novels and ‘true crime’ stories enters a secluded mental institution to in terview a serial killer who has been confined there for 30 years. The superintendent of the in stitution does not want the interview to take place and, in an effort to make the writer understand what it means to be insane, restrains the author in a straitjacket.

Then he pulls out a scalpel; he is the serial killer. The inmates have taken over the asylum – or so the audience thinks.

NOW BOOKING!
A SHERLOCK CAROL
by Mark Shanahan
4—13 December 2025

Tickets are selling fast for our winter treat: A Sherlock Carol, where Dickens' A Christmas Carol collides hilariously head-on with Doyle's The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle.

Moriarty was dead... to begin with, and Sherlock Holmes is a haunted man.

The great detective is approached by a grown-up Dr 'Tiny' Tim Cratchit and asked to solve the mysterious death of one Ebenezer Scrooge. A multitude of characters familiar to anyone with a passing knowledge of these Victorian classics are brought to exuberant life by a cast of multi-tasking actors.

Expect carols, snow, ghosts, mystery, murder, and a dejected detective discovering the true meaning of Christmas in a heart-warming and highly theatrical tale for all ages to enjoy.

COMING SOON!
THE RIVALS
by Richard Brinsley Sheridan
25 September—4 October 2025

High Society, high stakes, high jinks! Come and rejoice in the revelry and rivalry of this comedy caper. This classic from Sheridan will offer you a night of pure joy and escapism.

Heroine Lydia sits in the centre of a bevy of suitors, two of whom are the same man. Mrs Malaprop doesn't know her allegories from her alligators and Sir Anthony Absolute won't budge an inch on who his son should marry.

Duels, intrigues and mistaken identities abound in this romp through Restoration Romance, as the mask of propriety begins to slip.

A night of fun and frolics awaits you, where nothing and everything is exactly as it seems.

NOW BOOKING
ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST
by Dario Fo and Franca Rame
adapted by Tom Basden
20—29 March 2025

Medway Little Theatre is proud to present this hilarious farce, written by Nobel prize-winning playwright Dario Fo and first produced in 1970 but revised, rewritten and adapted by Tom Basden into a bitingly relevant and hugely funny piece of contemporary theatre.

In its current form, the play was premiered at The Crucible Theatre in Sheffield in 2022 and enjoyed a triumphant sell-out run in the West End at The Haymarket Theatre later that year, in both locations starring Daniel Rigby as The Maniac.

The play is set in a Metropolitan police station, in the aftermath of a recent death in police custody, where two previous ill-conducted inquiries have been unable to establish reasons for that death. Clever, quick-witted and mischievous, and assuming a variety of guises, The Maniac makes brilliant fun of the police officers involved and the deeply flawed processes of inquiry.
