In case you hadn’t already heard, sadly there was a fire at Café Nucleus, Rochester, the building where my studio is located.

Thankfully it happened in the early hours of the morning, and no one was hurt but it means that things are a bit up in air at the moment as repairs and cleaning are done.

The studio spaces weren’t too badly affected, just smoke damage, but other areas are going to take longer to sort and it may be some time before the building is open again.

As such all studio workshops have been moved to different venues and unfortunately I can’t fulfill any private hires at the moment.

But I’m still running plenty of workshops and exhibitions in Kent and don’t forget Medway Open Studios in July.

All set up for tomorrow’s sold-out Gelli printing workshop…and I’m feeling very organised ☺️

We’ll spend the morning exploring:

• Imprints & texture
• Using stencils
• Collagraph techniques
• The much-sought-after image transfer

Then we’ll choose our favourite prints and turn them into a concertina art book.

If you’re thinking of booking a winter workshop then be quick, there’s only one left with spaces available.

And it’s this glorious one at Knole - National Trust, near Sevenoaks:

PRINT A SET OF LINOCUT GREETINGS CARDS inspired by 500 years of history.

You’ll learn transfer techniques, image reversal and get hands-on carving your tile using specialist tools. See your art come to life as you ink up your linocut and print a series of greetings cards using a cast-iron 19th-century press. Your ticket includes access to the house, tower and grounds.
