Medway Fine Printmakers CIC

Medway Fine Printmakers CIC An artist run not-for-profit print studio with a programme of short courses, exhibitions, events and projects.

A collaboration between Xtina Lamb & Adam Piper, run as a community interest company by Medway Fine Printmakers CIC. A friendly community of printmakers in a historic area and a fantastic range of printmaking equipment with which to make fine prints on paper and textiles. We run short courses and a weekly open-access print club, take part in Medway’s Open Studios and host our own events. Our print

equipment is housed amongst large active studios, and we have created a welcoming place where you can drop in and meet artists working and see the art made here at INTRA. Facilities include: a Rochat etching press, Albion press for linocut or woodcut relief printing, a screen printing studio with vacuum printing beds and large exposure unit,, textile printing tables, offset litho press, Print Gocco, Screenfax and Thermofax machines for smaller instant photo-screens, Adana letterpress machines, heat press, digital cutter for vinyl and paper and a design library with 100s of illustrated and vintage books. We are located in an art deco fronted building between the Limehouse Thai restaurant and The Ship pub, on the high street and near the river, where Rochester meets Chatham.

Lo-fi lockdown print techniques No 3: Lo-Relief Cereal Box Prints

This is a relief printing method where you cut away a surface and print the remaining raised part – like linocut, but this time using thin, laminated packaging materials such as cereal boxes. Xtina shows you how to do it, armed with a spoon. Great for people who like creating silhouettes.
