BEYOND THE FRAY
Beyond the Fray is a celebration of Matthew Fray’s original comedy and is getting shown at Medway Little Theatre this August!

Matthew Fray, is a talented comedy writer from the Medway Towns, left an enduring legacy with credits on ITV’s The Sketch Show, Channel 4’s Smack the Pony, BBC1’s TV To Go, and Radio 2’s The Griff Rhys Jones Show. His stage work - The Men’s Group, Out to Lunch, The Seventh Day and his final play Just Business.

Matthew’s classics and some never-before-seen sketches will be performed at Medway Little Theatre, Rochester on Sat 1st August - 7.30pm with all monies raised from this event being donated to AMMF - the Cholangiocarcinoma Charity raising awareness of and funds for research into this type of cancer.

Matthew is an attribute to Medway Little Theatre and has always supported our Youth by allowing them to perform some of his work so it would be great if thr Youth and their families can support this performance for charity!

We are proud to announce that our youth group have recieved several nominations following their performance of "The Wardrobe" which was performed back in February. The nominations are as follows

Best Young Player - Lola Johnson
Best Young Player - Oliver Hewson- Parkinson
Best Stage Presentation
Most effective use of limited space
Youth Drama award

As a theatre we also recieved a number of nomonations for the adult performances. Reiss Foley from our youth group has recieved a nomination for best lighting in the adults performance of "Bouncers".

We are immensely proud of our youth group and would also like to congratulate all the other nominees from the other participating groups in the festival.

Stay tuned for updates on the 27th June when the award ceremony takes place!

Medway Little Theatre Youth will be performing at the this July!

Here is a sneak peak of the play "Jumped" that the youth will be performing. The adult group will also be performing the play "God of Carnage"

MEET THE CAST
On the 16th May a group from our Youth Company took a trip to Birmingham for the The Little Theatre Guild conference to perform our original play "That's the way to do it"

Before we share more updates over the next few days we would like to share the cast and introduce the characters within the play!

Toby the Dog - puppeteered by Libby Pearson
Bobby - played by Oscar Kerr
Nanny - played by Lola Johnson
Baby - played by Oliver Hewson-Parkinson
Barker - played by Lola Johnson

Reiss, Kerrie, Kairn, Dave and Derek attended the event and helped with tech and costume for the play.

WHAT DO MLT YOUTH GET UP TO IN A YEAR?

In the past year Medway Little Theatre have been very busy! We take part in lots of outreach programmes such as Sticks and Stones festival. Last summer we did a short play at the festival and got to meet lots of families from the local areas!

We also take part in the festival, this year we performed "The Wardrobe" as our entry and we are looking forward to the award ceremony next month.

Gibraltar Cultural Services also have a one act play festival that they hold annually and a small group from our Youth workshop perform in.This year we got awarded "best original play" and 7 acting nominations!

We also have our own festival that we run annually in our little theatre called the Duncan Rand One Act Play festival. This year is the 53rd anniversary!
The Duncan Rand allows local theatres to compete and connect with each other.

Most recently we went to Birmingham to take part in the The Little Theatre Guild conference.

Our theatre may be little but our adventures are huge and we are thrilled to be able to share them with you all!
