Cornwall Creates Slates

Yesterday was a busy day and I didn’t get to post after I got my hair cut. But it’s done and I’ll be posting my hair to this afternoon so it can be put towards making a wig for a child or young person with cancer.
A massive thank you to .byevex who cut my hair. Thank you for doing such a great job.
I was only expecting to get 12 or 13 inches but at the longest point it’s nearly 19 inches which I am absolutely thrilled about. See the last photo. I have also managed to get to the £400 mark in the fundraising efforts, so thank you to everyone who has donated. It is roughly £700 to make, style and fit each Little Princess wig and being able to raise as much of that money as possible is so important and I am very grateful. I will be leaving the fundraising page up for one more week in case anyone is able to help. Even £1 makes all the difference to this amazing cause.
As I said in my original post, I may not know what it’s like to have cancer or to loose all my hair, but as a child I have many brain surgeries and would often have bold patches. I could cover these with bandanas or hats, but I till hated it, so being in the position to be able to support this charity, support children and young people who have lost their hair to illness is very special to me.

Father’s Day is just three weeks away!
A day to celebrate all the special dads, grandad’s, and carers in our lives.

I have a few slates for sale that I didn’t sell at my last market, I also have availability for 2 commissions.
So if you want to get a special and unique gift for someone this Father’s Day, I might just have the thing for you!

So I’m actually off to East Grinstead today for a hospital appointment but I thought I’d show you what I was working on before I left.
The quote isn’t finished, can you guess what it is going to say?
I’m tempted to go back and change how I’ve written “laughs”, I’m not sure it’s quite right. Which is why I love these washable white pencils that help me plan out designs before I commit with paint.

Hi all, I have finally got around to booking my big haircut! I’m cutting my hair and will be donating it to Little Princess Trust. This will be my second time donating hair to ‘Little Princess Trust’. I donated in August 2022 and since then I’ve only had a few trims a year and its getting pretty long again. So I’m back.
As a child/teen I had 14 brain surgeries and spent much of my teens wearing bandanas because I had large bald patches. I’m grateful I never lost all of my hair; however these experiences do help me understand even just a fraction, of what the children who recieve the wigs are going through.
The Little Princess Trust is a charity and all costs of making, styling and fitting these wigs falls to the charity. Even with a hair donation it costs about £700 to make a wig for a child or young person with cancer or alopecia. I hope to raise some or all of the money to make the wig.
I have booked in with a hair dresser on Wednesday 3rd June, just 2 weeks tomorrow. I know the cost of living is off the charts so I understand if you can’t donate, or equally if you can only donate £1! Every little helps... 😊

Yesterday was my second year showing off my slates at the Clay Country Plant Fayre in Roche.
My second year getting to work with and meet some great people.

I can’t wait to be back next year.
A massive thank you to Tracey and Darren for organising everything and running the day.

Hedgehogs Crossing 🦔🦔🦔

This is the third and final hedgehog sign that will be coming with me to the Clay Country Plant Fayre next Sunday. All of these signs are hand painted and varnished so they are safe to go in the garden.
I also have a large selection of hedgehog 🦔 magnets.
The fayre is helping to raise money for hedgehog rescue and I will be donating £1 from every hedgehog related sale to the charity.

An absolutely wonderful painting of the lovely Dylan that Zenna Rogers Art did for my parents for Christmas. If you are looking for a painting of a pet or a gift of a loved one’s pet I highly recommend Zenna. Painted on vintage post cards and hung in a double sided frame. Thanks again Zenna.
