Hi all. So I'm having a little time away from posting and even slowed down on painting for a few weeks but will be back to it sometime in September. However I wanted to show off what I have been doing this afternoon.
I have just got home from such a lovely, unique and wholesome afternoon with some wonderful ladies in Cornwall.
Rachel who runs Dreckly Wild Women 🐚 Women’s Community organised a "Swap Market" at the lovely Jay Bird Deli - Portreath’s local Deli, Cafe and Community Space, run by Kerensa and Martyn in Portreath.
Have you ever heard of a swap market? Have you ever done one?
Each person brings along something they have made. But you don't just bring 1 item, you bring 1 for every person attending, they will also bring 1 of something for everyone attending and so on.
We got there, set up, had snacks, sat around and chatted and then we swapped so by the end each person has one item from every other person..... I hope I am explain this ok.
There are some amazingly creative and talented women in Cornwall.
Items I got;
☀️Homemade banana bread slice.
☀️Homemade Lemon drizzle slice and a money off voucher for a facial 😱.
☀️Homemade tomato chutney and homemade chive butter.
☀️An enamel mug with the logo on and some hot drink goodies inside.
☀️A wine glass beautifully painted to look like the sea.
☀️A lovely little letter from Sarah Marie with some sardine and mackerel prints and colouring sheets.
☀️A cute clay shell magnet from Rachel who runs DWW.
☀️A beautiful lino print of a snail 🐌 lounging under some mushrooms 🍄🟫.
☀️A gorgous succulent and some wild flower seeds from Kerensa.
☀️An adorable sea glass picture with some jellyfish 🪼🪼.
Finally I took a selection of my slate magnets for people to choose from. I also made some little bookmarks yesterday, each with a different smiley cactus on. I then took some on my inks and a pointed pen and wrote everyones names. I haven't practiced pointed pen over the summer and doing it live means they aren't perfect but everyone loved them.
