New for this swap – our Repair Café.

Got a favourite item that needs a small repair, alteration or bit of care before it can be worn again? Bring it along.

Throughout the day, you’ll be able to learn simple repair techniques, use sewing machines and materials provided, and get support to help extend the life of your clothes.

Because sometimes the most sustainable thing we can do is repair what we already have.

Our much loved Clothes & Stories Swap is back this May, bringing together fashion, conversation and community.

Join us on Saturday 30th May at Nelson Street Church, Rochdale.

Doors open: 10:30am | Swap: 11am—2pm

Bring along no more than 10 items of your pre-loved clothes and swap them for something new to you, while sharing the memories, milestones, or meaning behind the pieces you wear. It’s all about connection, creativity, and giving clothes a second life.

New this time round is our Repair Café –bring along your clothes that need mending or altering to give them a new lease of life. Machines and materials will be provided.

This is a free, inclusive women-only event.

Join Our Reggae Choir!

We’re excited to launch a vibrant, feel-good, community Reggae Choir in Rochdale! This choir is for everyone - whether you're a seasoned singer or just love reggae, we’d love you to join us!

Come and see what we’re all about at our free taster session on Sunday 26th April at Richard Street Studios.

Led by vocal artist Yemi Bolatiwa, this is a joyous, community choir bringing connection through the soulful rhythms and uplifting grooves of reggae.

Everyone is welcome!

Start Date: Wednesday 13th May
Location: Rochdale Unitarian Church, Clover Street, OL12 6TP
Rehearsals: Every other Wednesday, 6-8pm

We had a great time on Saturday with making bags out of found and used materials. A lovely group of people, with mixed experience, came together to learn new skills and practice old ones.

We love the creativity, all supported by Valery, who can make magic out of anything! Keep an eye out for our next workshop. We’re hoping to build a group that meets regularly to make, talk and see where our ideas can take us, always reusing materials.

MEET + SEW + SWAP

Join us for a sewing workshop to make a drawstring bag out of your used and found materials. Bring in your clothes to be transformed into something new (cottons and linens work best). Use your bag for travelling, storing toys, organising clothes, whatever you like!

For the few items that don't make the cut (!) we will have a couple of rails available for a small scale Clothes Swap. The workshop will be led by Valery Touchet who is a passionate community champion, running sustainable fashion workshops, helping the community to understand more about the pitfalls of 'fast-fashion' and how easy it is to upcycle existing garments into brand new outfits, accessories and household goods.

Where: Fireground, Maclure Road, Rochdale OL11 1DN

When: Saturday 28th February 2026

Time: 10.30am-2.30pm

Teas, coffees and snacks will be available on the day.

£5 to secure your place.

We have a limited number of spaces on this workshop and want to make sure as many people as possible can come – if you are no longer able to attend we ask that you please cancel your booking with enough notice.

All skill levels welcome. Sewing tools will be provided (You will be using a sewing machine during the day).

Our full scale Clothes & Stories Swap will take place in the Spring – date coming soon!
