Pink peonies 🤩🌸🌺 They really are the most fabulous flowers (although to be fair, I think this about all flowers…..and most weeds 🤣). I’ve just finished this painting today 🤩. It’s one that I painted last year which ended up in the pile of ‘almost there but not quite’ paintings. I’m really liking it now…..although it is quite bright 🤷‍♀️🤣😍🤩🌺🌸
Hope you managed to find some sunshine over the long weekend. It’s been a bit grey and damp in Yorkshire. Not complaining, I made the most of a stunning week of sunshine and was quite happy to get a grey sky studio day 🤩💖 I know, lucky me ☺️ Hope you have a super week 🥰

They’re back! 😍😍😍 Filling my heart with joy 💖
First House Martin spotted flying above our garden on Tuesday and first swallows while out walking on Wednesday. The magic is back✨✨✨
Have you seen any yet? It’s early for us. So exciting! X

Dropped this painting off today, ready for a month long exhibition in support of world curlew day 💖 It’s been a tricky one to photograph as however hard I try, the gold paint still looks tan brown. 🤷‍♀️🤣 Never mind, hopefully you get the idea. It’s wild and colourful and joyfully giddy, which is exactly how the returning curlews make me feel 😍💖 I adore sharing the moors with them (and with the meadow pippits and skylarks which arrived a couple of weeks later. It’s such a beautiful time of year, full of music and hope 🤩)

‘You scatter music through the sky’ 60cm square in deep edge canvas.

Today’s favourite marks 🤩 I’ve got a few different paintings on the go, all are feeling like a lot of fun 😍
And I’ve written a blog post about my art and creative practice. Actually, I wrote it before the art fair, in an attempt to articulate what my art is all about. Not sure how successful I was 😂, but if you would like an insight into the way my mind works (weirdly apparently 🤣), there’s a link to my blog in my bio.
Hope you all have a lovely week.

Yipee 🤩 Back in the home studio! And it feels sooooooo good. Have no idea how I lived so much of my life without paint in it 🤷‍♀️
First pic is the corner of a big painting in progress, that I really like. Expect it will have disappeared by the time the painting gets anywhere near finished 🤷‍♀️ Who knows? It’s what makes painting so exciting! I never have any idea where I’m heading until I get there 🤣🤩
Second pic is a commission I’m working on - my first and probably last 😂 Honestly, it’s so hard 🤣 I’m working across three paintings to take the pressure off but it’s still tricky. It’s so much harder to paint from your subconscious brain when you have (an admittedly ridiculously open) brief to work to 🤦‍♀️ Previous attempts wandered off in a completely different direction 🙄🤣 (I do appreciate that in the great scheme of things it’s a very good problem to have 😍💖)
Hope your week is going well. Can’t believe it’s Friday tomorrow and we’re already almost half way through March 😱 I’m clearly having far too much fun 💖🤩💖🤩

A few pics from the weekend before the days slide by and I miss the opportunity! Managed not to take very many (no surprises there…..was probably too busy talking 😆) I’m absolutely shattered, I’ve forgotten what ‘real work’ is like - lucky me! 🤣
Massive thanks to everyone who stopped by to cheer me on, say hello, ask questions or chat about the creative process. Loved it all 🤩. And an especially big thank you to my new collectors, it’s the most exciting feeling ever when people love your art enough to take it home with them 💖
Pic one is after setting up, pic 2 my brother came all the way from Kenilworth to cheer me on (thank you!!!), pic 3 me having a rehang after selling a painting, pic 4, a few of the neighbourhood gang - new friends who made the weekend heaps of fun with lots of chat and laughter!
Massive thanks to you all 🤩 xx

So much new and fun work on the go in the home studio - each painting on its own little adventure 🤩 I was stood here, sipping my tea, contemplating the ‘what next move’, when I glanced around and noticed such a huge ‘yes’ of fizzy excitement run up the front of my body🤩💖🤩💖
Hallelujah!!! It’s been a sticky start to this year, I’ve been tiptoeing around the canvases - too much in my head. The last few days have felt different, free again 😍 I listened to a great podcast last week with the author Joseph Nguan who talked about this. He said his first book ‘downloaded from nowhere’ once he ‘got out of his own way; stopped trying to be good, stopped writing for someone else and stopped trying to prove something’. It sounds so easy doesn’t it?! Don’t try to be good 🤷‍♀️🤣😍 I sometimes feel like this is the entirety of my painting practice - stop trying, stop thinking, just paint 🤩

What a huge privilege it is to leap out of bed on Jan 2nd, excited about getting back to normal life 🤩💖😍 December’s busy diary makes it impossible for my brain to chill out enough to get creative, and I haven’t stepped foot inside my art room for ages. I have missed it……massively. Which I guess is very good news 🤩 (assuming I can remember how to paint 🤷‍♀️🤣).
Today wet something like this. A morning run (to be fair it was mostly walking but the presence of sports bra and fell shoes elevated its status 😂), the rising sun flash through the white boomerang curve of a gulls wing, clearing out my home studio listening to new music, a tree creeper bobbing up the moss covered branch of the sycamore tree, the warm scent of a spiced orange candle, frozen moors as the moon rose and the sun sunk, time spent reflecting and feeling into what comes next. The energy feels expansive and fizzy in all the best ways. I’m excited ✨🧚
This painting is called ‘A Morning Full of Yes’ (sold 🔴), which is exactly how today has felt 💖✨

Wishing you all a wild and beautiful 2026. Thank you so much for being here, it means the world ❤️

There is nothing more exhilarating than standing in front of my paintings and watching someone connect. Not in an everyday way, but in a full body, visceral, cant can’t take their eyes off it but can’t explain why, kind of way. To see a painting move someone like this is so incredibly special. A moment like this more than makes up for the endless self doubt and frustration - and for the huge and ever expanding graveyard of failed paintings 🤦‍♀️🙄🤣
A massive thank you to everyone who helps along the way. Saturdays open studio and Christmas market at was the best day. I feel very lucky to be part of such a fabulous art school willing to work so hard on behalf of their creative community. 😍

And an even bigger thank you to the new owners of this large painting ‘The Art of Fun’. Such a thrilling reaction to witness, I hope she brings you endless joy. 😍💖✨

Today has been a very lovely painting day 🤩 Fairy lights twinkling and music playing way too loud 😍 Mostly working on these two, in between throwing paint on to a few other canvases. Do love it when the creative mojo flows ⭐️💖✨🤩
These paintings are both in progress but might be getting somewhere close. Am totally loving their weirdness 🤣😍
