Ocean themed piece by Emma! 🌊

A little slice of the ocean!🌊💖

Loved putting this underwater piece together, from hammerheads and stingrays to lil crabs, seahorses and shells🦈🐢 All tied together with seaweed, bubbles and dotwork to keep everything flowing on the arm !🫧

My client only wanted illustrative linework, and has plants to extend the piece in future. From a blank upper arm to filled in a few hours!✨

🖐️ Hand tattoos 🖐️
We often get asked if we tattoo hands.

The answer is simply that we would rather not 🛑

Moreover, we will only consider tattooing your hands if you are already heavily tattooed.

Why?
-Tattoos on hands age terribly. Everyday exposure, the amount we use our hands, the amount we wash them, glove wearing plus the quick turnover of skin regeneration on our hands all equate to rapid fading & patchiness.
This isn't a good look! 🧼 🧤 ☀️

-If insistent on a tattoo on the hand or fingers, fine line simply doesn't work, you'll be lucky if the tattoo lasts a year never mind a life time 🕰️

Even if you choose a design that isn’t “fine line” the way this heals and lasts will depend on your job role, lifestyle & how much friction your hands endure. 🧗 👩‍⚕️ 👨‍🔧

-Tattooing the hands means there's no hiding them. Some employers still do not permit visible tattoos. In certain countries you can't visit some places if you have visible tattoos, so these are all things to consider before you commit. 🛕

FLASH DESIGN ➡️ FINISHED TATTOO✍🏻

I often get people saying they find it hard visualising how my line work designs will look once shaded in b&g or colour… So thought I’d start a series of design vs finished tattoos so you can see how shading, texture and contrast are what brings the designs to life!✨

And a reminder that I’m always happy to chat through ideas in person and come up with shading that looks cool together, just have to have a little trust in the process💗
