More new things have arrived at The Hive over the last week or so. This new yarn from Stylecraft Yarns is exactly as it says on the label - Soft and Cosy. It'll make great toys and blankets and super cosy winter woollies.

We didn't have the space to get all 20 colours in, but we're trying to shoehorn a fair few in! We also ordered all the patterns, which include the cutest seahorse and starfish plushies!

It was really hard narrowing down which colours to order, so we narrowed it down to autumnal colours, some for Christmas and some that would make gorgeous baby gifts. If you buy enough of them, we'll get the remaining colours in. Somehow 😆

📢For those who have booked a space, this is just a reminder that the next Tuesday evening crochet course starts tomorrow at 6.30pm. Here's everything you'll need to know ahead of the class:

If you have any hooks and yarn, please bring them with you. If you don't, you can buy them at The Hive.

There are no parking restrictions outside the shop after 6pm, so you should be able to park quite close. If not, there is a free car park just up the road next to Alphavet.

If you need a ramp to access the shop, just let us know and we'll make sure it's ready for you.

You'll find us directly opposite the Commercial Inn on Commercial Road.

*This class is full so we're unable to take any last minute bookings or walk-ins, I'm afraid. However there's room on the Monday afternoon slot, which starts on 7th September. The next Tuesday evening block starts on 13th October. If you'd like to join us, please contact us to book your space🧶🧶

Good morning!

A little later than planned, but we finally drew the name for the winner of a goody bag. As part of our 5th birthday celebrations, anyone who spent over £5 during the birthday period had their name put into the draw.

My daughter, Esme, did the honours during one of our groups on Friday and the winner was C Ridgewell. (I know, the label says Ridgeway, but that was my mistake). Congratulations 🎊 I'll drop you a line and you can come and collect one of our pink tote bags filled with free patterns and crafty trinkets next week. X

Here's a reminder of what's happening at The Hive over the next few weeks.

We have a couple spaces left on the adults' beginners' crochet course starting on Monday, 7th September. You'll need to bring your own yarn and hooks. If you don't have any, we'll sell you some!

There's some space available on a six week sewing course with Julie of Sew and Behold. That starts on Thursday 10th September and you'll need to bring your sewing machine for that. Julie will guide you through making your own pair of cargo trousers, or if you prefer, some wide legged trousers.

Donna has a no needles knitted cushion workshop on Saturday 12th September and there are two spaces left on that.

On Saturday 10th October, local artist, Corrina Ann Art will be here to teach us all about lino printing. We only have two spaces left on that one, so if you fancy it, drop us a line!

Oh! And on Saturday 19th September Nicola is running a dream catcher workshop, but has forgotten to make an image for that! It's £20 per person and runs from 2pm until 4pm. All materials and refreshments will be provided, so just bring yourselves!

Good morning!

I've got rather behind with my social media over the last couple of weeks, thanks to being short staffed and having a life outside of work. So, standby for lots of updates over the next couple of days or so.

We have a few new lines in, and here's the first one. It's Naturals Pure Wool from Stylecraft Yarns and it's absolutely beautiful. It comes in 32 colours, taken from the Special DK range. We've only got eight in for now to see how it goes - some lovely baby colours and a couple of Christmas-y ones.

It's really soft and the stitch definition is beautiful. Come and take a look! We're here until 4pm today. X
