❤️✨ WELCOME BACK, MISS LIBBY! ✨❤️

This one feels particularly special… 💃

Before heading off to university, Libby grew up as a JL Dancer. She trained to a very high level across multiple genres, competed at dance competitions, performed in countless shows and spent many years as a huge part of JL Dance Academy. 🏆🎭✨

And some of our longer-standing JL families might remember that “Miss Libby” has actually been Miss Libby before! 🥰 Before leaving for university, she worked alongside our Principal as a Dance Assistant, helping the younger dancers coming through JL. ❤️

Since then, Libby has trained as an Occupational Therapist 🩺✨ and now that she’s putting down roots back here in Derbyshire, we are incredibly proud and privileged to welcome her back to JL, this time as one of our teachers. Libby has been back teaching and training for her DDE already! 🥳💃❤️

Libby was loved and respected by everyone who knew her during her years as a JL dancer, and we know she is going to be a fantastic addition to our teaching team. 🌟

We also couldn’t welcome Libby back without a little mention of her lovely mum, Claire, who will be fondly remembered by many of our longer-standing JL families. ❤️ Claire was a wonderful JL Dance Mum and a brilliant supporter of the school, always one of the first to volunteer and help, whether that was arranging a Christmas party, helping at a competition or simply getting stuck in wherever she was needed.

✨ Once a JL Dancer, always a JL Dancer. Welcome home, Miss Libby! ✨

We’re so excited to welcome Miss Genevieve to our teaching team from September! 🥳✨

Genevieve is a dancer and musical theatre performer from Belper 🎭💃 and we can’t wait for her to become part of the JL family and meet all of our brilliant dancers! ❤️

Here’s a little hello from Genevieve herself 👋☺️

“Hello JL Dancers!!! My name is Genevieve, and I am a dancer and musical theatre performer from Belper. In September, I am excited to join the outstanding JL teaching team. I look forward to beginning this journey and meeting all of you! ☺️”

Okay… so yesterday we realised we made a slight mistake 🙈😂

We introduced you to ‘The JL Way’… and then linked you to the page with all three of our guiding principles, rather than actually starting at the beginning 🤪

So, let’s try that again! 😂👇

👋💕 The JL Way: Start With Hello

Our first guiding principle, Start With Hello, really encapsulates the friendly atmosphere we’ve always tried to create at JL.

We know our students 🥰 Not just their names, either!

Even members of our team who don’t teach classes know almost every student by name. Chances are, we can name their siblings too… as well as Mum, Dad, and quite often grandparents and other important people in their lives! 😂❤️

And that matters to us.

👋 Start With Hello means that whenever somebody walks into our reception, we acknowledge them. Even if we’re already chatting to somebody else, it might just be a smile, a wave or a quick “Hi!” 😊

Because nobody should walk into JL and feel invisible. 🫂

And that same energy carries into our studios 🩰, our events 🎭, competitions 🏆 and everywhere we go together as a team.

Start With Hello isn’t really just about saying hello. 💕

It’s about seeing people. Acknowledging them. Respecting them. Making them feel welcome, comfortable and part of something. 🥰
