A significant milestone for Malini Chandrasekar, whose work is featured in the September 2026 issue of National Geographic.

Her image of a pride of lions in Tanzania’s Serengeti opens the feature, A Hard Reign, across a double-page spread.

The feature explores the increasingly challenging journey faced by Africa’s lions as they navigate the rapidly changing savanna — a subject that resonates deeply with Malini’s photographic practice and her enduring commitment to the natural world.

For Malini, the publication marks a particularly meaningful milestone. Having grown up with the National Geographic and dreamed of one day photographing for the magazine, seeing her own image across its pages brings that ambition wonderfully full circle.

New work by Dan Baldwin ✨

A striking new group of large-scale works on paper by Dan Baldwin will shortly be arriving at NoonPowell.

Known for his distinctive visual language and his ‘Psychological Landscapes’, Baldwin brings together bold graphic forms, vivid colour and recurring motifs from the natural world.

Measuring an impressive 5 x 4 ft, these new works use silhouettes of branches and foliage to create powerful compositions of colour and form. Alongside them is a 4 ft diameter tondo, bringing the same visual language into a circular format.

We’re looking forward to seeing these remarkable works in the gallery!

A final look at ‘Daphne’s Garden’ before it leaves the gallery for its new home. 🐝

Walter Knabe’s Daphne’s Garden, 2026, is a wonderfully vibrant work, bringing together his expressive use of colour, texture and layered mark-making.

There is an almost dreamlike quality to the composition, with flowers emerging through layers of turquoise and green, creating a work that feels both joyful and atmospheric.

We have loved having this beautiful painting in the gallery and are delighted to see it begin its next chapter.

Shown alongside ‘Daphne’s Garden’ in the gallery is ‘Arcanum’ 2026, another recent work by Walter Knabe . Here, a solitary stag emerges through a softly layered landscape of warm, muted tones, revealing a different side to the artist’s distinctive use of texture and atmosphere.

Behind the scenes with Gered Mankowitz this week as preparations begin for his forthcoming solo exhibition, Lost in Rust, at NoonPowell Fine Art Gallery this October.

Yesterday, we joined Gered at the printers as he signed works for the exhibition, followed by a visit to the framers today to make the final decisions on their presentation.

Years in the making, Lost in Rust reveals a deeply personal body of work exploring Gered’s longstanding fascination with texture, form and the unexpected beauty created by time.

Rust becomes almost painterly through his lens. Weathered surfaces, stripped of their original context and altered in scale, reveal extraordinary variations of colour and texture — reimagining everyday objects as abstract studies of time and transformation.
