Rhyl Little Theatre 50th Year Celebrations

Rhyl Little Theatre 50th Year Celebrations The first purpose built Theatre for children in the UK. It was founded by actor Joseph Holroyd who was a member of the Manchester Repertory Company.

After being evacuated to Rhyl's Pavilion Theatre during the war years Joe stayed on in the town and continued with the Children's Club. The town responded well and many children took part in various shows in the town. iIn the 5o's the old school/ clinic on Vale Road was closed and after much campaigning the Rhyl Little Theatre was built and opened May 18th 1963. Many children and adults have tak

en part in hundreds of productions over the years. Plays, Pantomimes, Musicals, Variety Shows, Band Nights, and one night attractions.
