Ceramicist Sarah Bartlem’s current body of work draws inspiration from the dry stone walls of North Wales. Their rich textures, subtle tones and sense of place are reflected throughout her work, which combines careful observation with a deep understanding of form, texture and glaze.
Join Sarah Bartlem Ceramics on 13 June for an afternoon of hand-built ceramics. Drawing on her deep understanding of clay, she will guide a small group through pinch pot, coil and slab-building techniques, sharing the processes she uses to create functional and decorative pieces. You will make your own choice of projects such as pots, candle holders, egg dishes or small vases, with up to two pieces professionally glazed and fired, ready to collect a few weeks later.
Alongside a career in graphic design, Sarah began her pottery journey in 2010, learning wheel throwing before setting up her own studio. Her work has featured in galleries including Ruthin Craft Centre, Mostyn, Royal Cambrian Academy of Art, Oriel Glasfryn and Y Capel Llangollen.
