CURTAIN UP ON MURDER

An amateur production of a murder mystery is rehearsing in the theatre at the end of the pier. Storms rage overhead and the doors are locked: they are trapped! Then the Assistant Stage Manager falls to certain death through a trapdoor. There are characteristics that we will all recognise from our involvement with amateur dramatics, such as fragile egos and self-absorption.
Will anyone actually survive until the curtain finally closes?

The story of Jekyll and Hyde follows a respected doctor whose experiments begin to unleash a darker side of himself, blurring the line between control and chaos. This version introduces a strong female presence, offering a fresh emotional perspective often missing from earlier adaptations. With its stripped-back style, the play's plot explores identity, secrecy, and the dual nature of human beings.

Stepping Out now sold out run at the Courtyard Theatre in May.

We have a list of people wanting tickets - so if you have any that will not be used, please email the [email protected] and let them know. Please give us as much notice as possible and if we can sell them we’ll give you a credit note. They’ll need to know the seat numbers and which night.

Alternatively, if you’d like to go on the waiting list for return tickets, please email the box office the following information -

1. Your name
2. Your preferred phone number
3. How many tickets you require
4. Which days you would accept tickets for
5. Would you accept tickets not next to each other?

IMPORTANT - Please DO NOT buy any tickets from anyone you do not know.

Stepping Out is a warm and very funny play about the lives, laughs and loves of a diverse group of women - and one man! - attending a weekly tap-dance class in a dingy North London church hall. At times moving, the play focuses on their characters and relationships, with anecdotes and confidences being shared as they get to know each other better, and as we also get to know them as individuals. They're a likeable bunch and we root for them, hoping that their dancing will improve.
