It was wonderful to see all but one of Samuel Palmer’s etchings displayed alongside a substantial collection of early Graham Sutherland etchings at Abbott and Holder Gallery during The London Print Fair at Somerset House.

Tom, the gallery owner, conveys a real passion for the subject through this collection, which has clearly taken time to assemble.

This was followed by a fascinating talk featuring Tom and Jolyon Drury, whose father, Paul Drury, belonged to the celebrated class of 1921 at Goldsmiths alongside Graham Sutherland and others.

The talk also included Gordon Cooke, founder of the London Original Print Fair, and artist Kit Boyd, whose work continues the Neo-Romantic tradition. We are delighted to have Kit’s work in the gallery.

The fair continues until Sunday

Currently making a film on the life of Paul Drury following on from the exhibition we held last year.
His father Alfred Drury was responsible for the Joshua Reynolds statue in the Royal Academy courtyard. Although Paul did a considerable amount of the work.
If anyone happens to be in London I’m in need of some up to date photos of the Reynolds.
Let me know if you can help
