Well, our record of 108 entries into a flyer lasted all of 4 days… 🀣

Well done McNamara’s Sports Bar on raising the bar, that’s an unbelievable turnout and great to see the game boomingπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

But we’re sure the people of Surrey and surrounding areas are going to have something to say about it πŸ‘€

Surely we can get 128 players on the 28th of September for our next Β£10 entry! πŸ‘Š

Congratulations to Ali for winning Fridays flyer beating Joe Ginley 3-0 in the final at 5am… πŸ˜…πŸ‘πŸΌ

We got told the record was 108 for a club flyer in the UK and we had 128 players registered and then 124 turn up in little ole Runcorn! ❀️

Thank you to everyone who turned up, supported the event and made it one of the best nights we’ve ever had in just under 3 years of starting this brand! 🫢🏼❀️

Not a bad nights work ay Ali… πŸ’·

Thank you all once again! πŸ₯°

Spots & Stripes Series Event 4 yesterday produced another stacked field and a fantastic day of pool 🎱πŸ”₯

108 players entered, and after almost 9 hours of play, we were down to just two…

Dan Davy πŸ†š Dom Cooney

Both contesting their second final of the year. Both looking for their first Spots & Stripes victory.

The opening stages were scrappy, with Dom finding himself 3-1 up.

In the fifth frame, Dan broke down on his penultimate ball, leaving Dom with a huge opportunity to extend his lead to three. A positional error on the black would eventually cost him the frame, before Dan responded with a break dish to level the scores at 3-3.

A dry break from Dom allowed Dan to take the lead, before another break dish put him on the hill at 5-3.

Dan had a chance to wrap up a 6-3 victory, but he unfortunately potted the white while trying to open up his problem ball. 5-4.

Another golden opportunity came Dan’s way in the 10th frame, but he missed his last ball while trying to pinch the pocket to get on the black. Dom played a loss of turn, and Dan rattled a double on the black which came agonisingly close to dropping. 😱

Dom produced a brilliant clearance to force a decider.

In the decider, Dom finally made a ball off the break, but landing bridging on his last ball left him without perfect position on the black. He still had a shot - one he would normally expect to make.

On this occasion, however, the black stayed out πŸ™ˆ

This time, Dan made no mistake, mopping up the remaining balls to claim his first Spots & Stripes Series victory! πŸ†πŸŽ±

Dom was left to rue the missed eight ball, while Dan would’ve had a feeling of dejavu, after Michael Hope also missed match ball to knock him out in the quarter finals!

πŸ‘ Congratulations to both players on a fantastic run!

An absolutely horrendous positional shot by Silu Miah to throw away the chance of a 3-0 lead over Dave Fernandez!

With the match fast slipping away from her, Jasmine Bolsover produces a fine counter clearance to pull a frame back against Dave Fernandez!

We’re not quite sure on Steve Pantony’s choice of shot here, but we definitely know that Danny Morgan wasn’t playing THAT!

The Super 8 got underway yesterday, with two spaces in Finals Night up for grabs - and what a night it was!

The night began with Michael Hope completing a 4-0 victory over Luke Terry. Michael was far from his best, but Luke was unable to capitalise on a number of mistakes.

Unlike Luke, Dale Miles was able to punish Joe Nulty for the chances he missed in the second match, battling to a 2-0 victory.

In game three, Joe raced into a 3-0 lead before Luke hit back to dish the fourth frame - with the first four frames taking just 10 minutes! Joe had the chance to seal the match, but a missed pot took the score to 3-2. The final frame was tense, with both players making mistakes, but Luke ultimately managed to secure the draw, leaving both players on the edge of elimination.

An improved performance from Michael saw him romp to a 4-0 victory over Dale, whose only real chance came in frame two β€” but a missed black denied him.

Going into the final round of fixtures, there were a number of possibilities, with only Michael guaranteed to progress.

Joe needed to beat Michael to stand any chance - and that’s exactly what he did! A high standard match ended 3-2 to Joe after Michael missed the chance to level the scores.

We were now guaranteed a shootout! πŸ”₯

Would it be Joe and Dale? Joe and Luke? Or would Dale and Michael be battling it out for top spot?

Luke got off to the perfect start with a golden break. However, from there, Dale used his experience and game management to win the next two frames before managing the clock as Luke desperately chased the win.

With just 20 seconds remaining, Luke had a chance at a treble, but the pot rattled, allowing Dale to seal the victory and book his place in Finals Night.

To decide top spot, Michael set a brilliant shootout time of 21.87 seconds. Dale was unable to match it, missing his final ball with the clock very close!

πŸ‘ Congratulations to Michael and Dale on making it through to Finals Night!
