Rehearsals 7.45pm on Tuesdays in the Upper Hall, URC Church, Shaw's Corner, RH1 6AU, between Reigate & Redhill. Reigate & Redhill Choral Society began in 1941 and has been part of the musical life of the area since its foundation and has worked tirelessly to meet ambitious objectives that respond to the needs of the surrounding community with a variety of exciting workshops, festivals, tours, reco

rdings, education initiatives and partnerships. The choir, a registered charity and affiliate of ‘Making Music’, has also performed extensively both in the UK and abroad. Professional soloists and instrumentalists are regularly engaged.

SUMMER CONCERT:
Saturday 11 July:
7 pm at St John's Church, Redhill (RH1 6QA)

Reigate & Redhill Choral Society is excited to present a programme centered around Spirituals and Folk Songs, for our Summer Concert.

We are also very pleased to be performing another piece by Sarah Quartel, whose 'A Winter Day' was very well received at our Christmas concert last December.

The opportunity to commission an SATB version of 'Indigo' by Shruthi Rajasekar, a US-American composer of South Asian descent, jointly with Southampton Philharmonic Choir, alongside support from Cole Bendall, adds a further element of interest to the programme. This piece, previously only available for mens' voices, will be receiving its European Premier in any form, in addition to the World Premier in this new SATB version, on this occasion.

The concert is conducted by our Music Director Cole Bendall, features Scottish mezzo-soprano Ellen Smith, and is accompanied by Matthew Rickard.

Refreshments, including Pimm's, Strawberries & Cream, will be available in the interval.

We are very pleased to be able to support local charity, The Orpheus Centre, through this concert.

Great end to our 2026 tour, with a concert in Peterborough Cathedral today!
Thanks to everyone who helped make it run so smoothly, particularly the three Dreux, Jo at Sound Escapes UK Performance Tours, Gary and the other staff at Peterborough Cathedral, everyone at St Wulfram's Grantham, Neil our driver, and then on the musical side, our brilliant MD Cole Bendall, Matthew our accompanist, and our step-out soloists (and standby reserves) from within the choir.
