💛 Sending all our love and best wishes to Will Dickinson, our wonderful Chair, as he continues his recovery.

⚠️ A charged mobile phone allowed Will Dickinson to call for help while trapped beneath three hay bales weighing a combined 1,500kg.

The Hertfordshire farmer suffered 12 rib fractures, eight spinal fractures and a fractured pelvis after the bales fell from a trailer as he worked alone.

After successful surgery and six weeks of hospital treatment, Will is back home and hopes to return to full fitness by March.

He and his family have now shared their experience to highlight the importance of assessing risks, carrying a charged phone when lone working and never taking safety for granted.

Congratulations and a great shout out for Darren Bennett, wishing you the very best of luck at the final.

A last-minute decision paid off as Darren Crowe and Daisy Murray's horse, Saveasea, secured victory at the Herts County Show!

The win earned the pair qualification for the London International Horse Show in the Open Racehorse Class, supported by Horse & Hound Better known around the yard as 'Norman', he was on his best behaviour and looks to be a hugely promising partner as the countdown to London continues🌟.

🌾 Thank a Farmer this Harvest 🚜💚

As harvest continues across Hertfordshire and beyond, it’s the perfect time to recognise the incredible dedication of our farmers.
From early mornings to late nights, often working around unpredictable weather, farmers work tirelessly to produce the food on our tables while caring for our countryside and livestock.

Harvest is one of the busiest and most important times of the year, requiring months of planning, hard work and resilience.
At Hertfordshire County Show, we’re proud to celebrate the people at the heart of British agriculture and showcase the vital role farming plays in our communities.

So next time you enjoy a loaf of bread, a glass of milk, fresh vegetables or locally produced meat, take a moment to say thank you to the farmers who make it all possible.

🌟 Fancy Dress Debut — Livestock Grand Parade, Herts Show 2026 🌟

This year the livestock team launched something brand new — fancy dress in the Livestock Grand Parade — all to raise money, and it turned out to be one of the most entertaining moments of the entire show.

We had Freya as Little Bo Peep, leading her flock with style. Then came the fairy farmers floating around the ring, a random fox who seemed to appear from nowhere, and of course… the iconic banana stealing the spotlight.

And the tutus. So many tutus. No one is entirely sure what the theme was supposed to be — but honestly, that made it even better. It was colourful, chaotic, and completely joyful.

The crowd loved it. The exhibitors went all‑in. And for a brand‑new addition to 2026, it couldn’t have been more of a hit.

Did you have a favourite? Maybe the Bo Peep moment, the tutu takeover, or the mystery fox.
