Our final rehearsal. ❤️🎭

I honestly couldn’t be prouder of every single person in this photo.

The amount of hard work, commitment and energy that has gone into this celebration has been incredible, and it’s been so lovely watching everything come together.

To our young performers, some of you have grown up with me as your teacher, and seeing the people and performers you are becoming makes me incredibly proud. Others have joined us more recently, thrown yourselves straight into the company and given this show absolutely everything. Watching you all work so hard, support each other and grow in confidence has been really special. ❤️

And to our adult company, some of you have been here with me since the very beginning, while others have joined us at different points along the way. No matter how long you’ve been part of Anything Goes, seeing the talent, commitment and support you bring to this company is something I never take for granted.

This company has changed and grown so much over the last 10 years, and so have the people within it.

Next stop… the theatre. ❤️

I cannot wait for them all to have their moment on that stage and show everyone what they can do.

Next week, Anything Goes Theatre Company celebrates 10 years! ❤️🎭

And I’m so excited to be getting back on stage to perform alongside such an incredible group of people.

From our wonderfully talented Adult Company to our brilliant young performers in our Youth Theatre, I genuinely cannot wait for everyone to see just how much hard work, talent and heart has gone into this celebration.

I’m incredibly proud of every single person involved, and I feel very lucky to get to share the stage with them for such a special occasion. 🤍

✨CAST & CREATIVE ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

We are so excited to welcome Rhi to the cast of our upcoming Anniversary Show! Rhi is the founder of our company and has been involved in every production from the first rehearsal to closing night. Normally behind the scenes, we can't wait to see her take to the stage!

Rhi is a Berkshire based theatre maker with nearly 15 years of experience in directing, teaching, and producing. In 2016, she founded Anything Goes Theatre Company with the aim of using theatre to explore challenging and often taboo subjects through honest and creative storytelling. In 2021, she expanded the company further by launching Anything Goes Youth Theatre.

Passionate about inclusivity and accessibility within the arts, Rhi’s teaching and directing style focuses on building confidence, creativity, communication skills, and self expression in performers of all ages and abilities. She is particularly dedicated to creating safe and supportive spaces for young people, SEND performers, and those using theatre as a platform for connection and growth.

Throughout her career, Rhi has directed and produced a wide variety of productions across Berkshire theatres and venues, including Bare: A Pop Opera and Dogfight the Musical at the Alan Cornish Theatre, Carrie, The Girl on the Train, Alice by Heart, First Date, and Bonnie & Clyde at South Street Arts Centre, The Lovely Bones at South Hill Park, All Shook Up at the Kenton Theatre and Big the Musical at Norden Farm.

As Anything Goes Theatre Company approaches its 10 year anniversary, Rhi is incredibly proud of the community, creativity, and opportunities the company has built over the years and looks forward to continuing to create inspiring and inclusive theatre experiences for all.

I’ve worked with some incredibly talented people over the years. The ones I remember most aren’t always the loudest. They’re the people who encouraged others. Who celebrated other people. Who made the rehearsal room feel like somewhere people wanted to be. That’s what positive energy means to me.

Those are the people I’ll always want to make theatre with.

Sometimes I wish performers could see themselves the way I see them.

Not because they’re perfect.

But because I can see how much they’re capable of becoming.

Some of the biggest breakthroughs I’ve seen in rehearsals have happened because someone kept going.

They stayed curious.

They trusted the process.

And little by little, they discovered they were capable of far more than they first believed.

That’s why I love rehearsals.

It’s where confidence grows.

It’s where people surprise themselves.

You don’t have to arrive as the finished product. You just have to be willing to grow.

I’ve lost count of the number of performers who’ve told me they’re worried about looking silly in rehearsals.

The truth is, almost everyone feels that way at some point.

But rehearsals aren’t about getting everything right.

They’re about exploring.

Trying something new.

Discovering ideas you didn’t know were there.

The performers who grow the most aren’t the ones who never feel self-conscious.

They’re the ones who keep creating anyway.

Because the audience didn’t come to watch you.

They came to experience the story.

Ten years ago, I started Anything Goes Theatre Company because I loved theatre and wanted to create something that people enjoyed being part of. I never imagined it would grow into what it is today.

Over the years, I’ve learnt so much. Every production, every rehearsal and every person who’s walked through our doors has shaped the company and, honestly, shaped me as a director too.

Today feels like another one of those moments I’ll remember.

Applications are now open to join Anything Goes Theatre Company.

This isn’t just an audition for a show. It’s the start of a new chapter for the company and one that I’ve spent a long time thinking about. I’m so excited to welcome new people into the rehearsal room, hear your stories and continue building a company where people can grow, challenge themselves and create something special together.

Applications are now officially open to join our company.

Over the last ten years, we’ve learnt so much about what makes great theatre. It isn’t just talent. It’s the people in the room. The performers who support one another, challenge each other, work hard and come together to tell stories that audiences remember.
That’s the company we’re continuing to build.

We’re looking for performers who are passionate about storytelling, who enjoy collaborating with others and who are excited to keep learning and growing as part of a supportive, ambitious company.

Our auditions aren’t just about seeing your prepared piece. They’re an opportunity for us to discover who you are as a performer, how you work with others and what you could bring to our rehearsal room.

If you’re looking for a company where creativity, commitment and kindness matter just as much as performance, we’d love to meet you.

Every rehearsal room has a moment when it starts to feel different.

It’s no longer a group of individuals.

It’s a company.

It happens because people choose to be present.

To listen.

To support each other.

To celebrate new ideas.

To throw themselves into the process of telling the story together.

That’s when rehearsals become exciting.

Ideas build on each other.

The story grows beyond what any one person could have created alone.

That’s what can happen when everyone commits to the process.

One of my favourite moments in rehearsals is when the world of the show starts to grow beyond the version I’d imagined.

It happens when performers stop thinking about their role and start thinking about the story.

Someone develops a relationship that was never written into the script.

Someone reacts to a moment in a way I’d never considered.

Someone makes a choice that suddenly makes the whole world feel richer.

Those are the moments I love.

They’re the moments when the story stops being words on a page and starts becoming a living, breathing world.

Every audience is different. Every person watching brings their own experiences, their own perspective and their own connection to what’s happening on stage.

You never know which character, which relationship or which moment is going to stay with someone long after they’ve left the theatre.

That’s why I’ve never believed in “small roles.”

Every performer has the opportunity to shape the world the audience steps into. Every choice adds another layer to the story, making that world feel more truthful, more detailed and more alive.

I often talk about story endlessly in the rehearsal room.

Probably too much.

But that’s because I genuinely believe the best ideas aren’t the ones I come up with on my own.

They’re the ones we discover together.

That’s what excites me about auditions.

Every now and then, someone makes a choice I hadn’t imagined. They reveal something about a character I’d never considered, or they find a moment that suddenly makes me see the story in a completely different way.

In that moment, I can feel the world of the show beginning to come to life.

It starts to grow beyond the version I’d been carrying around in my head, becoming richer, more detailed and more exciting because someone else has brought a new perspective to it.
