BBC RADIO BERKSHIRE WILL BE AT THE SKATEPARK TOMORROW. COME DOWN, MEET SUSANNE THEIR REPORTER, TELL HER WHAT YOU LOVE ABOUT THE SKATEPARK.

Here's the message we received from the BBC.

Hi all, tomorrow (Wednesday 12th August) between 7 & 10am BBC Radio Berkshire are going to be broadcasting live from the Sonning Common Skatepark. Radiocar reporter Susanne Courtney will be down there, having a go herself, but also wants to meet people who use the park who can tell her what they love about it. If anyone would be keen to show Soose some skills and have a chat, do drop by any time between 7 & 10am. Thanks so much!

WE HAVE A DATE FOR THE BUILDING OF THE NEW SKATEPARK TO COMMENCE.

Fantastic news people, our chosen supplier Wheelscape Skateparks have advised us that they plan to start work on Monday 23rd of March.

Building a new skatepark is at the mercy of the weather, so at the moment we cannot provide an opening date. Photographs and updates of the build will be posted here regularly.

We must all work hard to dispel the misconceptions that some people have of skateparks. As Les Fry, Dorchester Section Commander of Dorset Police will tell anyone that listens, a well situated and managed community skatepark helps to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour.

POLICE and council officers spied on youngsters at a skate park for two months...but failed to get evidence of any crimes.

FANTASTIC NEWS. ALL THE FUNDS ARE NOW IN PLACE TO BUILD THE NEW SKATEPARK AFTER LOAN DEAL AGREED.

The Parish Council have agreed to loan the final £15,000 required to build the new skatepark.

Build date to be announced.
