One of the things people loved most about our Pudding Lane experience was the attention to detail that went into all of the different parts of the build, including the many hand-painted shop signs.

On Saturday, we were invited to be a part of University of Reading's Community Festival and took along our tabletop games, Troops to Hoops.

Have you missed us?! Well there's some good news if you have - we'll be taking our ‘Troops to Hoops’ tabletop puzzle challenges to the University of Reading for their Community Festival on Saturday 18th May.

The Community Festival is a free, family-friendly event for the local community which includes live music, theatre and performance, workshops, sporting activities, community stands, a craft market, street food, and a range of research-related activities and talks.

It’s been just over a month since we closed the doors to our TimeTrap venue, so we felt it was only right that we update you on what we’ve been up to in the meantime and what the future of TimeTrap looks like…

Responsible for a lot of the prop and set creation since she first joined TimeTrap in 2018, we’re delighted that Tegan has joined us (Andrew and Katie) over at Imaginarium, where we continue to design and build escape rooms, or create escape room style experiences, for others.

Our latest project took us to Inveraray Jail on the West coast of Scotland, an historic Victorian prison, now turned museum and tourist attraction. This brand new escape experience takes you back to 1850 and inside the Debtors’ Prison where you’ll need to pay back your debt of 18 shillings if you’re to be set free.

So, although you may not be able to visit a TimeTrap venue anymore, you can still play games created by the same team…if you’re up for a road trip!

We held our wrap party last night which saw TimeTrappers past and present (minus a few that couldn't make it) get together and reminisce on the last 7 years. From our very first Experience Makers, to our very last, it was so lovely to be in the same room as all of the wonderful people that have brought TimeTrap's experiences to life.

That's all folks.

2,800 days since we ran our very first game at the Reading Fringe Festival, TimeTrap is now closed.

The first picture was taken on opening day at our Friar Street venue in June 2017 and the second, last night after our final game. So many memories have been created here - for us, our wonderful team, and hopefully many of you.

Although our venue has closed, we really want to remain as a presence in the Reading community. We're going to take some time to figure out exactly what direction this takes but we hope to be back in some capacity in the future.

And, we'll be sticking around the escape room industry in the meantime, creating experiences for others. More on that soon.

But for now, thank you for all of your support over the last 8 years - it really is appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to comment, message, email and call us since we announced TimeTrap's closure. The reaction has been far bigger than we expected and knowing how much TimeTrap meant to so many of you is really special. We haven't gotten around to replying to you all but please know that it is appreciated and means a lot.

We've seen a lot of bookings come through in the past few days, so do make sure to book in soon if you'd like to visit (we only have three Saturday Pudding Lane slots left, for example).

Because of the increase in demand, we have opened up more slots on Monday 4th and Sunday 17th March.
