We're looking for some freelance workers to join our team for an exciting new project!

Timestretch is a heritage project exploring Reading’s important contribution to the development of UK rave, jungle and drum & bass culture.
The project will uncover and preserve stories from the people, places and technologies that shaped the scene, including DJs, producers, promoters, record shops, community spaces, pirate radio, sound system culture and the audiences who experienced it.
Through oral histories, research, podcasting, digital content and community engagement, the project will create a lasting archive and share Reading’s music heritage with new audiences.

Earlier this month, jungle legend DJ Rap came to visit Readipop HQ and have a play in our XOX Project - Readipop studio with us. It was brilliant speaking to her about our work with young people and showing her around.

We’re thrilled to have XOX Project included in “Ultimate Guide: 909 Day 2026” from the manufacturer of these iconic synths and drum machines Roland, ahead of our XOX Studio launch this Wednesday (9th September).

“Based in Reading, UK, the XOX Project from Readipop gives musicians, producers, and students the opportunity to experience some of the most influential electronic music instruments ever made. Through a complete collection of original Roland instruments, BOSS effects, and studio technology, Readipop has created an accessible, hands-on environment where visitors can play, perform, program, and record with rare vintage equipment.

“Alongside inspiring creativity and learning, the project helps build a more inclusive electronic music community through initiatives such as EMOM (Electronic Music Open Mic), which encourages experimentation, collaboration, and creative discovery for people of all ages and experience levels.”

A huge thank you goes to Roland for their fine words about Readipop and XOX Project - Readipop, a lovely taster for the full in-depth article they have put together for our XOX Studio launch 🎹🎛️😍🙏

Saturday’s Yard Party was more than just a Readipop event, it was the first public viewing of our newly refurbished studios! Alongside the Live Room, which everyone saw host great live performances and family workshop throughout the day, we also took some of the attendees around on tours to visit our recording studio and studio. In case you missed it, here’s a virtual tour taking in these spaces

Our recording studio (dedicated to the memory of our late participant Harley Hibberd) is pivotal to the 1:2:1 sessions we carry out every week at , giving young people the opportunity to producer and record their own tracks with us (including the tune underneath this virtual tour!).

The XOX Studio is a rare working collection of the original synths and drum machines that built dance music — and, unlike any museum, one the public can book and play.

From September onwards, we are open for enquiries to book our three studios when they are not in use for our projects. To register your interest in a studio booking, please email us at [email protected].

Our biggest highlight from Saturday’s Yard Party was, without a doubt, the Readipop AAA Takeover where we got to showcase our talented young people. We were brimming with pride as our participants performed tracks and songs that they had written and produced with us at Readipop Studios. Here’s a selection of photos from the takeover, thank you to everyone who packed out our live room to see them all!

offer a number of free to access sessions throughout the year to help young people them build confidence and music skills whilst hanging on and making friends. For full info on AAA Fridays, The Drop and our AAA Holiday Sessions, follow the link in our bio to “AAA Programme Website”.
