Last night our Dorrie P and Peter Sweetmore went along to the New Millenium Theatre on Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, to watch one of the funniest shows they have ever seen.
Inspector Drake & The Perfekt Crime is coming to the end of it's run with only tonight and tomorrow night left and limited seats available. If you are looking for a fun night out with a LOT of laughter, for only Β£12, the players have you covered!
The set, as always, is simply outstanding! (Bonus laughs when Peter thought a tusk was a "little bird" π)
Director, Paul Mcgowan is to be congratulated for his skilled interpretation of the script; ensuring he captured the tight and speedy dialogue to deliver a fast paced, comedic, tour de force.
Stephen Claxon as Inspector Drake, from his brilliant entrance, commands the stage, delivering a character who oozes charm and charisma whilst bringing absurdity and comedy that will have you laughing out loud.
Paul Higginbottom is the zany Officer Plod, he plays a fantastic part, nearly every line is a laugh for the audience, and his facial expressions would give Jim Carrey a run for his money.
Jim Rowe brings us an arrogant Dr. Rupert Short in an impeccable performance. He brings the character to life brilliantly, generating suspicion, questions, wads of cash and very nearly, a full mooney!
Helena Lockett looks absolutely stunning in the role of Sabrina, the daughter of Dr. Short. Her seductive character will have you guessing everything about the play all the way through, she vacillates between an innocent ingenue and a suspicious femme fatale with aplomb.
The plot thickens when Holly Boland makes her entrance as Miss Short, bringing a twist that will ignite the super sleuth in everyone. Another beauty on the stage who delivers an impressive and skillful performance with bravura.
Inspector Drake and the Perfekt Crime is a whodunnit which is a whirlwind of farce, plot twists, and glorious nonsense. If you like your detectives clueless, your suspects suspicious, and your laughter frequent, then this is the show for you!
You can book your tickets via the link below, or pay on the door subject to availibilty. Tickets are Β£12. Free Tea and Coffee at the interval, or enjoy a beverage from the bar.
