ALL ABOUT SIGNAL COMMITTEE
Signal Committee are a 4 piece band from Bury, England. Their influences include the likes of New Order, Jon Hopkins, Arcade Fire, MGMT, The Stone Roses, Radiohead, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Trent Reznor.
Their debut album, A 1 For A 0 (and we'd all go binary), was released in January 2020 and hosts a diverse range of tracks, making it hard to pigeon hole into a specific genre. Signal Committee draw influence from alternative and abstract pieces, without staying too far from their traditional indie rock roots. Their consistency shows through in that each track, however it may differ from the last, is critically underpinned by a modern electronic sound.
The first album has been well received by the curators of Fresh On The Net (FOTN), hosted by BBC6 Music's Tom Robinson. Their track, 'Taste It', has since been played on BBC6 Music, Smile Radio and EGH Radio. Previous submissions to FOTN include:
Sterile - described as "A moody, penetrating earworm riff that sinks in deep, closing so beautifully in cascades of synth & guitar washes. An artist’s track. A painter’s track."
