Having some fun with glass this week. Trying out some stacked dichroic pendant pieces - aka "blobs". They're in the kiln at critical annealing stage at the moment... So excited to see how they turn out!

This week's "let's see if I can do it" throwing challenge: a little round pot with a lid, thrown in one piece! So far so good - lid separated from pot, and gallery formed, now just a bit more drying needed before trimming the lid to fit 😅

My little clay cabin studio all set up ready for small group workshops, already busy with Christmas clay fun for kids (and adults!).

An exciting kiln-full of new stoneware pieces...wash-and-serve berry bowls (aka mini colanders) and little sake cups (or egg cups, if you prefer!) Next project will be to make some sake bottles to complete the sets - something of a challenge for me, but, as they say, practice makes perfect .... well, a little better maybe!

I've just finished a collection of mini vases, perfect for miniature flower arrangements - wild flowers (responsibly gathered) or garden flowers with stems too short for larger arrangements. They are individually hand made, approximately 3" in diameter.
£10 each (postage £2.99 extra, or free local delivery/pick up) glazed to order, so a few days turnaround needed.
A big thank you to Laura Cragg for the inspiration.

Finally got around to firing some porcelain and stoneware pieces. Turquoise is definitely my thing!! Scandi grey throwing clay is my new favourite, but I just love the smooth feel of porcelain too. Paper clay (featured on a recent Throwdown episode) used for the tall, narrow vase, is great for fine detailed and textured work, that can be super thin but very strong.
Thinking of having a go?? Why not book in for a studio session and give the wheel a whirl?!
