Bringing something new to your partner is the hardest part.
Most advice treats it like a negotiation you need to win. It isn’t. If you go in trying to get a yes, they’ll feel it and pressure is the fastest route to a no you didn’t need to hear.
Say what you’d like. Be specific about what that actually looks like, because vague requests get vague answers. Then stop talking and listen properly, whatever they say. Their worries aren’t obstacles in your way. They’re just their worries.
Amy from Coffee & Kink wrote this one for us and included five openers you can borrow word for word if you don’t know how to start. Full thing on the blog, link in the first comment.
What would you want a partner to say, if they were bringing something new to you?
