Somebody told me that someone from Fraserburgh has entered my Tartan Army Song into a competition for it to be used for the World Cup song. Apparently they played a bit of it on BBC Scotland. Others mentioned were The Proclaimers, Queen, Status Quo among others. Even just to be mentioned in that sort of company is crazy for me. Especially for a wee tongue in cheek song that was written in 10 minutes. Recorded in my house and only took 3 weeks from concept to recorded, mastered, video and release all on a shoe string budget from my busking money. Thank you all so much for sharing it about and your lovely comments. Yesterday’s video was restricted yet again, but this one managed to break through anyway due to sheer people power. Thank you all again. You’ve made this wee girl a happy wee girl. You all rock❤️

Prestwick Leisure Club set to re-open following major upgrade works

South Ayrshire Council is delighted to announce that the improvement works to Prestwick Leisure Club are now complete and the facility will re-open to the public on Monday 29 September.

The greatest thing about playing on the streets is you never know who’s watching. Been a crazy few weeks and met some amazing people. This is me with the Legend that is Billy Moore who stopped for a wee chat while out filming for his YouTube channel. Couple of weeks ago I got handed a phone and it was Brian May from Queen so had a wee chat. Was so nice of him to encourage me to keep on rocking. Not many would take the time to do that and it meant the world to me. Last Saturday a man watched me for ages and called his pal to let him hear me sing. This was none other than Lewis Capaldi. Another multi platinum selling artist then sent her friend to ask me to call her, which I did while I was on my way to meet a man about a guitar who turned out to be Kevin McGinlay who along with his brother Jim founded the band Slik who many of you will remember. Sitting having a chat with him and he told me how Midge Ure got his name. Apparently when Midge came to join the band Kevin said to him we can’t have two Jim’s in the band so you will be called Mij which is Jim backwards and that ended up Midge. And last but not least is someone sent Sharron Osbourne a couple of videos of me singing some Ozzy and Sabbath. Sharon is obviously grieving the loss of her amazing husband who has been such an inspiration to me over the years so to find this out is both beautiful and sad all at the same time. One thing for sure is he will never be forgotten.
I’ve also been invited to go and meet another world famous guitarist. I’ll keep his name hidden just now until it actually happens as sometimes things fall through and I don’t want to look daft. All in all a crazy few weeks but in a good way. I just love the streets and as I said you just never know whose watching❤️

Prestwick Promenade Celebrations Committee are delighted to bring you a fun family day along Prestwick shore on Saturday 26th July.

The fun begins at 12 noon, where there’s something for everyone: the roaring fun of Cadona’s Fun Fair, beach & putt, vintage cars and motorcycles, lots of stalls for browsing and more.

Entertainment and laughs galore, as always on the main stage from Magic Malky, Annatasiayr, Gary Coupland (ex Singing Kettle), Tony Andrews, Dalrymple Ukulele Orchestra, Double Trouble Circus Workshop, The Thor Challenge, and the Magic Circle of Scotland. Back by popular demand, Ann’s Dog Show, Jurassic Invasion (new show and new cast) and live action from the Swords of Dalriada.
There will be a prize for the best dressed stall and a treasure hunt.

Thank you to all our sponsors this year, especially Prestwick Community Cafe and many more who have rallied round to help us.
Including a huge thank you too for the assistance of New Life Church, Regency, Police Scotland and South Ayrshire Council, whose generous support is invaluable and we could not make the Prom Day happen without them. Our committee members will be on site to assist, along with stewards from New Life Church and Regency.

There is car parking in front and behind Kidz Play as well as beside the Sailing club but spaces are limited!
Please consider walking🚶🏼‍♀️cycling🚴🏾‍♂️ using public transport🚌 or car sharing🚗
We would kindly ask you to listen to and show respect to our hard working volunteers trying to direct you🙅🏻‍♂️
Please do not park your car on any of the roads leading to the Promenade that would block access or cut it down to single lane!
