Entry Requirements

Entry to this course is via audition and interview. You should be working at the equivalent of ISTD Intermediate Level and be actively participating in dance performance and/or dance classes. Course Information

an offer you a unique opportunity to achieve your ambition. The course aims to equip students with the highest degree of training in preparation for their chosen career. During this specialist course you will follow a programme of study which incorporates the following qualifications:

Foundation Degree in Teaching Dance in the Private Sector
RAD Ballet (Intermediate Advanced 1 & 2)
ISTD Ballet, Modern, Tap & National (Intermediate Advanced 1 & 2)
ISTD Diploma in Dance Instruction (Level 3) and the Diploma in Dance Education (Level 4) in ballet, modern, tap and national plus written units
LAMDA Speech and Musical theatre
Jazz
Street Jazz: Contemporary
Drama and Music Appreciation
BTECH Dance

Alongside this course you may also be able to study other qualifications depending upon how they fit in with your dance timetable


Assessment

Continual assessment using various methods, including: practical work, log books, reports, evaluations, presentation. Progression

On completion of the course you may choose to go into performance or teaching. The teaching qualifications you achieve provide opportunities to progress directly into employment. There is also the opportunity to progress from the Foundation Degree in Teaching Dance in the Private Sector to study a BA(HONS) in Dance, Performance and Teaching at UCLan. Careers

THANK YOU!

A couple of weeks ago we had the absolute pleasure of a visit from who taught another inspirational set of masterclasses for us. Alastairs visits are always a highlight in our programme of masterclasses and we look forward to welcoming him back again soon!

Alastair has been performing for over 20 years from ballet to musical theatre. He has performed on the Westend and Broadway, shows include A Chorus Line, Sinatra , Dirty Dancing, Wind in the Willows, Singing in the Rain, Carousel, Kiss me Kate and An American in Paris. Alastair started his career dancing in Mathew Bourne’s Swan Lake, Nutcracker and Play without Words.

Today we celebrate the success of PCD Grad

Abigail graduated in 2022 having gained a BA (Hons) Dance Performance, Teaching and Choreography, and Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) Imperial Ballet, Tap and Modern Theatre.

Having taught at a number of dance schools, Abigail has recently opened her own school

We wish Abigail all the very best in her new venture!
