Just Fair Laughs is a Comedy Club in Bamber Bridge, Preston bringing the best professional comedians to the north of England on the first Wednesday of the month. Comedy reaches the parts others cannot reach. We are currently running up to six shows a year. Please check this page for updates on the next show. JFL are supporting Grassroots

Grassroots Family Support Project Bamber Bridge is a local partnership of schools and churches which aims to provide support to families where issues at home are seen to be affecting children’s learning and achievement in education. The project employs one part-time coordinator who recruits, trains and mentors local volunteers. Referrals come from schools, health visitors, other agencies and those families who self-refer. Following an initial visit from the coordinator and with the agreement of a family a volunteer is matched to offer support. Average support lasts six months. Since its launch in October 2008 Grassroots in Bamber Bridge has supported over 100 families and more than 300 children and young people. Almost all families who engage with the project make significant improvement with at least one positive outcome. These positive outcomes include: improved attendance and achievement at school; family finance and debt management; health issues support; parents accessing new training opportunities and gaining employment; family relationships restored; young people receiving peer-mentoring. In the current circumstances of recession and government cuts the need for Family Support in Bamber Bridge is greater than ever.
