These two beauties are part of six new designs from Edyta Demurat that launched a little while ago, and I don’t think I’ve given them nearly enough attention.

So this week, I’m making up for it.

Edyta’s cards are some of our most-loved designs and the new additions are every bit as beautiful as the rest of the collection. Folk-inspired florals, gorgeous colours and thoughtful details that make each one feel like a little piece of art.

They’re also finished with Edyta’s signature die-cut shapes, making them feel extra special and the kind of cards people are inclined to keep long after the occasion has passed.

Starting with this cheerful Get Well Soon and dreamy floral Birthday design which I love the name we gave…. Meadow Tile ☺️

My dad is 83 and spent his working life farming before diversifying into butchery and meat wholesaling.

He’s never been one for giving speeches or handing out life advice, but over the years these are the lessons that seem to have stuck.

Looking back, they all come down to the same thing: don’t waste things, don’t spend money you haven’t got, work hard, adapt when you need to, and when something needs doing… get on with it. 🫶🏼

I don’t want this to come across as gatekeeping, because it really isn’t.

I love this industry, and I love that greetings cards feel like such an accessible way for creatives to get their work out into the world.

But I do think there’s a big difference between making cards and running a card business.

And the bit no one really tells you is that the business side can very quickly become the biggest part.

Still brilliant. Still worth it. But definitely not as simple as it looks from the outside.

A little throwback from when we had this photo taken for a Progressive Greetings feature — you can tell it was a while ago because we’re all a lot more wrapped up. 😅

Seeing our little Boketto team like this makes me feel so lucky.

From left to right: Clare, Pauline, Carole, Lucy, me, Micky, Kate, Rebecca and Jess.

Clare is one of my bell ringing friends, Pauline is our neighbour and good pal, Carole is Micky’s mum, and Julie and Hilda are also part of our very lovely volunteer packing crew. They’ve all so kindly helped us pack many manyyyy cards over the years! 💖💖💖

Rebecca is an artist in our mill complex and does paid packing work for us, and there’s also Sue who does paid packing too but sadly couldn’t make the photo. Then there’s our lovely Lucy, Kate and Jess as well.

The age range in this photo is 19 to 83, which makes me love it even more.🥹

I honestly can’t believe we get offered this much help, but it’s such a lovely reminder that when you try to be good to people where you can, it has a funny way of coming back around. As Pauline always says, “well, you’re good to me” 🥰

Thank you so much to everyone who came to see us, placed an order, had a chat, said kind things about the newness or just made us feel a bit less knackered and a lot more proud 🥰🥰

This year has been a big one for us. We’ve pushed hard, probably too hard at times, but seeing everything we’ve been working on out in the world — and seeing you all get excited about it — means more than we can properly say 💖
