Just a reminder to book your place for the People's Emergency Briefing, at The Venue (Penwortham Arts Centre) this Thursday at 6pm.

It is a 50 minute film on the nature and climate crisis, followed by an opportunity to reflect and discuss.

Coming up at The Venue...

On Thursday 11th June, at 6pm, there is another opportunity to see the People's Emergency Briefing, a 50 minute film on the nature and climate crisis, followed by an opportunity to reflect and discuss. 🦤

The film features Chris Packham, leading climate and nature scientists, a former general and Jennifer Saunders.

No expertise is required and all are welcome. Attendance is free, but please pre-book your place via the link below.

Directed by Bradley Cooper, starring Will Arnett and Laura Dern, the film is loosely based on the story of comedian John Bishop’s decision to become a stand-up.

The screening from Penwortham Community Cinema this month is “Is This Thing On?”

The film is on Tuesday 26th May at The Venue (Penwortham Arts Centre). Doors open at 7pm, the movie starts at 7:30pm.

Directed by Bradley Cooper, starring Will Arnett and Laura Dern, the film is loosely based on the story of comedian John Bishop’s decision to become a stand-up.

The Guardian said: “Is This Thing On? starts with a punchline – sad divorced dad stumbles into a bar as a cry for help – and smartly works backward; like a great routine, beneath the jokes lurks something tender, grounded and real.”

Penwortham Live is happening a week today!! 🤩

The weekend of live music will be on Friday 8th & Saturday 9th May.

The Venue is hosting gigs for the event, but there will not be a bar available. Please bring your own drinks, and a picnic if you like.

Wristbands are available from the community library at Priory Lane Community Centre, 10am - 4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
