Whilst I sort through all our new stock, and momma G is already busy making some things with some of the new fabrics 👀 I thought I’d share something seasonal!

I think one of my jobs today will be changing the window display, and it’s probably time for an autumn inspired display.

There’s another fabulous spooky panel, this one features 16 squares that you could use to make a quilt or like us you could make wall hangings or table runners. There’s some fabulous fabrics that you can put with them too….new display already up in the shop. But it might well get changed today depending on what I put in our window!

Who’s ready for autumn, for me autumn is definitely a sign of more crafting and less gardening! I’m so ready for more time for me a less jobs to do outside! Although I’ve still got a few dye baths in the greenhouse dyeing fabrics for some upcoming workshops….dates yet to be confirmed but I’ll release them very soon! Keep your eyes peeled!

We had a very busy day yesterday sorting through quite a lot of new things! So there’s plenty for me to share with you for a while!!

First up, a brand new panel from Andover, “Dance Class” featuring 8 squares approx 9.5” in size. Alongside three gorgeous coordinating prints.

I absolutely adore the ombré stars 🤩 definitely need to use that for something!!!

Perfect panel for any little dancers…if you’d like a panel they’re £9.50, just give me a shout and I’ll be sure to save one for you. If you’d like some of the coordinating fabrics then of course I can sort that out for you too.

Panels always look so much better made than a simple piece of fabric. Here’s our shop sample out on display - let’s face it Halloween will be here before we know it!!

This panel is £15.50, and backed with the coordinating pumpkin fabric which I forgot to photograph to share with you 🙄 but I’ll try and remember to take a photo to share with you when I get to work this morning.

Super simple, and quick to make, all you need to do is layer and quilt it. Perfect as a wall hanging, or a lap quilt that you can get out each year to celebrate Halloween!

Week 1 completed last week, but I completely forgot to share my progress with you!

Following on from the say it with flowers CAL, I found this one to be a nice easy start, stripped back to some more basic crochet.

Week 2 was released yesterday, and so I’ve made a start - progress report will follow soon!

I know there’s a few of you doing it along with me, and we’ve been asked about the other colour way which is winging its way to the shop this week should you want to use the deeper colours! I prefer this one, but then that’s what makes us all unique!

If you fancy a go, we’ve got plenty of yarn, and yarn packs available…just get in touch and I’ll sort that out for you. I’ll add a photo of the second colour way for those of you who’ve not seen it!!

If week 1 is anything to go by, then it might be a nice little project to have a go at. There’s nothing scary, nothing too difficult, and there’s videos and full written pattern available all for FREE in both UK or US terms.

I’m also on hand anytime if you’ve got any questions or you need a little help. Just drop me a comment or message or pop in and see me sometime.

🌟Fat Quarter Clearance🌟

Today I’ve got a HUGE collection of fat quarters to share with you…..if you’d don’t know what a fat quarter is, it’s basically a quarter of a metre roughly square in shape measuring approx 19.75”x 21”.

Instead of doing a bargain box post this month I’ve sorted through our fat quarter boxes and hopefully have found all the fabrics that we no longer have on the bolt. It’s quite some time since I did something similar.

I’ll add comments to each photo with a number, description and discounted price of each piece of fabric. If there’s more than one of the design available I’ll add that to the comment too.

They’re all 100% cotton patchwork fabrics, unless otherwise stated.

Simply comment with anything you’d like to order and I’ll sort that out for you. Orders can be collected from the shop at your convenience or I can post out to you if you prefer.

If you order 6 or more fat quarters from today’s post I’ll apply an extra 10% off all the fat quarters you order.

❄️£30 which is split - £15 deposit to reserve your place, remaining £15 paid on the day of the workshop.

Table centrepiece, this one I’ve made completely by hand except from attaching the binding…so there’s no need to bring your machine. So if you fancy a workshop where we simply put one of these together and hand sew in a relaxed friendly environment all day then get in touch to book your place.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed putting these together - the starting point is the pictorial fabric but you can change the rest of the material colours to your own preference if you don’t want to make them exactly like mine, there’s plenty of options from our extensive fabric and felt collection 🤣 I could have made quite a few different samples!

It is possible to make them on the machine. If you’d rather make one on the machine then you can still do that too - you’ll just need to bring your machine to the workshop with you.

Another recent completion from Momma G, after desperately wanting someone to choose a Christmas fabric to play with she couldn’t hold herself back any longer!!! So merrily she decided to have a go with it herself instead!

So now we have two, yes two table runners, and two cushions on display and up for sale in the shop. So if you fancy having a change for your Christmas table, you can have a go yourself or you can buy one ready made by the wonderful Momma G!

Christmas is coming, we’re in September, there’s going to be many more posts to come….how long before I can put the tree up in the shop? 🤔

Here’s one I finished earlier….this week 😂

I had to make myself complete something before I started the crochet along this week. So here it is, a gorgeous blanket, fluffy, soft and light as a cloud!

Izzy has a corner to corner blanket that I made in a collection of the shades for her when she was born. She still uses it now 5 years later in the car…

I figured it was time for a little showcase of the yarn, it grows quickly - a chunky yarn, I’ve knit this blanket on 5.5mm needles.

Pattern will catch up maybe in a day or two, as this one is one I’ve made myself - so I’ll jot it down for anyone who might like to recreate it in their own colour combinations!

Best get my laptop out and type up the notes you’ll be needing to make it!

Today is our monthly Knit & Natter sessions at our lovely little shop and I think today’s post couldn’t come at a more appropriate time….

How many of you have prized possessions like this one? It’s nothing fancy, and I doubt anyone else will ever want it, but to me it’s priceless. It’s a connection to a lady who I still miss, even after all this time ❤️

I’d forgotten about it, but it was in a box of things my brother and I had kept after my Grandad passed last year. So this weekend when we sorted through that box, it came home with me.

I simply can’t throw it away. Isn’t it funny how some things we hold on to for no real reason other than the love of that person.

This tin lived in my grandparents footstool, along with Nana’s knitting bag which Grandad gave to me 21 years ago. I wonder why he kept this tin…but then maybe for the exact same reason that I’m keeping it 🤷🏼‍♀️ he certainly didn’t sew 😂

Some of you will have heard me talking about her in the shop…my Nana was a keen knitter, and would often be knitting when we visited or went to stay. She sadly passed away when I was 14, for me it felt far too soon, but in reality she’d suffered from Alzheimer’s for a few years by then.

Do you know something? She would have loved our shop. And if I could have just one wish, I wish she could come to work with me for just one day. I like to think she can see us, maybe Grandad’s telling her all about it over a brew ☕️

Now does anyone know the answer to this…(bottom right) there’s a fine crochet hook in there with a bend in one end, it looks like it might be made that way but I can’t decide if it’s something she’s bent?! Does anyone know for sure?

And it’s always nice to put a face to a name, so there she is, my Nana - her four grandchildren were her favourite thing. Shame I’m shouting cheese or something instead of smiling 😂

Maybe one day (a long time away) we’ll be reunited and get to knit and natter together 🫶🏻 although maybe I’ll have to crochet 😂
