Be careful what you ask your children…we asked ours if they’d like to enter the fancy dress competition in our village festival…and what they’d like to be. So Mark & I got creative with some boxes and made these two works of art 😂 two very happy kids won joint first prize 🏆 which made our efforts all worth it!! They were in our shop window yesterday for lots of happy little faces spotted them as the fabulous parade went past 🌟

🌸New Patterns🌸

Today it’s all about knitting, I know I can go on about crochet a fair bit 🫣🤷🏼‍♀️ so although this is a beautiful yarn to crochet with it’s also gorgeous to knit with.

Two brand new patterns have made their way into our ladies DK knitting files and I’d like both of them 😂 how do I pick which one to make?! And how do I choose a colour, they’re all such lovely pastel shades perfect for the warmer weather!

If you’d like a pattern or some of the yarn then let me know and I’ll certainly save some for you!

So to all of our Bamboo + Cotton Dk yarn fans, I know there’s a growing group of you now - and quite rightly so! Try and resist making one of these ….or both 😂😂

‘Sevilla’ is the new blanket pattern from Janie Crow and it’s now in stock along with all the colours of Life DK that you’d need to make it.

You’ll find the pattern in our huge crochet file, along with many of Janie’s other patterns. If you’d like a yarn pack then I’ll be putting some together so drop me a comment or a message if you’d like one. Or pop in and have a look for yourself!

If you fancy mixing up the colours and putting together your own colour scheme then there’s lots of different colours of Life DK on our shelves so you could spend a while pondering!!

⚠️ Festive content follows…Ho Ho Ho ⚠️

There’s so many new things to share I don’t know where to start!! On Tuesday it felt like I spent the day unboxing all kinds of treats! And in it…our first festive delivery of the year, and I’ll be honest I didn’t think the yarn would beat the fabric, but this year it has!!!

Brand new shades in the Head Over Heels Festive from Stylecraft Yarns has made its way onto our very well stocked sock yarn shelves!! And oh my goodness are there some beauties in the new collection!

I’ve separated the patterns into two picture posts because it features some of the free patterns available, some are knit and some crochet, so naturally I’ve categorised them for you!

First up, the first photo shows the yarns along with three patterns which are all knit:

🧶 Socks x 1 ball
🧶 Shawl x 2 balls
🧶 Baby pattern x 1 ball for all sizes except largest size 2-3yrs x2 balls

Meanwhile for the crocheters out there the second photo shows the crochet patterns also free to download:

400g balls of Aran yarn on offer at the moment …with 50% off! There’s just a few of these left now 3 shades of the plain and 3 shades of the tweed so if you’d like to take advantage of the offer pop on down and choose your yarn!

Momma G made some cushions from one ball, they go further than you might think! You might remember that quite a while ago I used two balls to make a large blanket for a child along with a cardigan age 2-3 & two hats!

The yarn is 80% acrylic and 20% wool and is a great yarn to work with. I also made a blanket for our lounge using 3 balls, it’s a huge throw and keeps us warm when there’s a chill in the air!

🧶 Bonus Aran (plain) now just £6.93 per 400g ball (that’s just £1.73 per 100g - bargain)

The start of another week here at QQHQ, I’m expecting a few deliveries today - I hope I’m not too swamped 🫣😂

There’s plenty of work going on behind the scenes here planning workshops, hopefully more news to share with you all soon 🪡 🧵

A couple of weeks ago I asked if anyone would be interested in a workshop along these fabulous kaleidoscope effect blocks. I know lots of you will have made these or similar over the years but if you haven’t and fancy a workshop drop me a comment/message and I’ll make a note of your interest. I’m sorting out dates this morning when we’re both available so that mum can run the workshop. So if you’d like me to keep you posted on the date/s etc or would like anymore information please just drop me a comment or message me directly.

We’re currently working on more things hopefully coming later this year and into next year so keep your eyes peeled, some workshops pending! 👀

Some more fabrics have been added to our sale box, these are all 1m pieces and are now just £8 per metre. It’s been a while since I shared the contents of this box so i thought I’d share it again.

If you’d like more than 1m just ask because there might be more lurking around, I’d just have to check for you!

I’ll add comments to each individual photo which will give each fabric a number. If you’d like to order anything simply let me know the number of the fabric you’d like to order.

We’ve got yarn packs in the fabulous Stylecraft Yarns special DK, which comes with the pattern and a label to pop on your blanket once complete!
