Hibs fans who remember the glory days of the early 1970s may appreciate a memento of those days... a small framed print that will sit nicely on a desk, sideboard (another throwback to the 70s!), mantelpiece or windowsill. Featuring my portraits of the Turnbull Tornadoes forward trio of Jimmy O'Rourke, Alan Gordon and Arthur 'Nijinsky' Duncan. https://stevenandersonart.etsy.com James Connolly Hibs SC Dublin Hibs Eighties

Just finished two more Turnbull's Tornadoes acrylic portraits to add to my Hibs collection: 1970s legends Jimmy O'Rourke and Arthur Duncan. Added to my earlier portrait of striker Alan Gordon, these three spearheaded the fantastic team of the early 70s led by manager Eddie Turnbull. In 1972-73, club stalwart O'Rourke, the elegant Gordon and flying winger Duncan scored 98 goals between them. https://stevenandersonart.etsy.com Hibernian Football Club Hibernian Retro Auld Hibs - Hibernian F.C. My latest acrylic portrait off the easel takes me back to the team I grew up watching as a young teenager .. the great Turnbull's Tornadoes side of the early 1970s.
Alan Gordon played centre forward in that side and in 1972-73 he was in the running for Europe's Golden Boot, scoring 27 league goals.
Although he cost only £12,000, Gordon's ability with his head was a sight to behold. His header for ' seventh goal against Hearts on New Year's Day 1973 typified his skill in the air.
This portrait on canvas will hopefully be the first of several Tornadoes this year and I'll be adding prints and other merchandise to my Etsy page fairly soon. If anyone has any questions about prints etc, feel free to ask.
