Held each August in an intimate setting nestling on the Powys/Herefordshire border, the Presteigne Festival has become a focal point for those seeking musical nourishment and artistic discovery in the beautiful surroundings of the Welsh Marches. With a truly forward looking commissioning policy, the organisation works closely with composers and artists to create and curate inspiring programmes and

events for an ever-widening Festival audience and to bring experience broadening opportunities to its host community. The Presteigne Festival's six music-filled days span the August Bank Holiday period. Established over thirty years ago, the Festival has a long tradition of supporting young artists and for presenting a fresh and individually stylised mix of contemporary works carefully balanced with twentieth century classics and featuring a wide range of music from the standard repertoire. So, the curtain has come down on another fabulous Presteigne Festival – thank you to all of you who came along and very special thanks to those who played, sang, composed, acted, exhibited, hosted, managed and volunteered.

This year was truly amazing with 26 brilliant events – thank you, it was an unforgettable experience. Until next year!

Felly, mae'r llen wedi cwympo ar Wyl Fawr Llanadras arall – diolch i chi i gyd a ddaeth, ac diolch arbennig iawn i'r rheini a berfformiodd, canodd, cyfansoddodd, actiodd, arddangosodd, cynhaliodd, rheolodd, ac a wirfoddoliodd.

Mae'r flwyddyn hon wedi bod yn wirioneddol ryfeddol gyda 26 o ddigwyddiadau rhagorol – diolch, roedd hi'n brofiad anghofiadwy. Nes flwyddyn nesaf!

'Down a hot and dusty road' .... Festival Opening night is given over to a performance of Stravinsky's masterpiece 'The Soldier's Tale' with narration from Jonathan Gunthorpe and fab actors Alexander Knox (Soldier) and Alexander Wilson (The Devil), directed by Ruth Evans. The first part of the evening sees the world premiere of 'The aspens talk of rain' by Lillie Harris, featuring superb soprano Rowan Pierce and Cecilia McDowall's 'The Night Trumpeter' with the amazing Imogen Whitehead. Not to be missed!
