Have you ever looked at something crocheted and thought…

“I’d love to be able to make that, but I could never do it.” ❤️

I hear this so often.

But nobody picks up a crochet hook for the first time knowing what to do.

You learn.

One stitch becomes a row.
A few rows start to take shape.
And eventually you’re sitting there looking at something you’ve made with your own two hands thinking…

I actually did that. 🥹

This little video is a snippet from one of my step-by-step tutorials — and this is exactly why I make them.

I don’t expect you to already know what you’re doing. I’ll show you.

Pause me. Rewind me. Watch the same bit ten times if you need to. There’s no keeping up with anybody else. You learn completely at your own pace. 🧶

So if you’ve been watching from the sidelines thinking you’d love to learn crochet but you’re just not sure you could do it…

Please don’t write yourself off before you’ve even given yourself the chance. ❤️

I was so pleased when I finally got the Bobbiny shelves looking lovely and fully stocked… and then you lot got to work! 😂

I knew I’d been busy, but it wasn’t until I compared these two videos that I realised quite how much cord has actually left the shelves.

And the best bit? It’s all heading off to be turned into bags, baskets, placemats and all sorts of lovely creations. ❤️

Now I’ve just got to get the shelves looking like the first video again! 😂

Thankfully, there should be another Bobbiny delivery arriving towards the end of this coming week. 📦🧶

“I’d love to crochet, but I don’t think I could do it.”

If I had a pound for every time I’ve heard that… 🧶🤍

But here’s the thing — you don’t need to be naturally crafty. You don’t need to learn loads of stitches at once. And you definitely don’t need to get everything right first time.

Crochet is a skill, and just like any other skill, you learn it one little bit at a time.

Your first stitches might be wonky. You might pull them out and start again. You might pause the tutorial 15 times (we’ve all been there! 😂).

Then one day you look down at something you’ve made and think…

I MADE THAT! 🥹🙌

That feeling of pride is one of the things I love most about crochet.

So if you’ve been thinking “I could never do that”, try changing it to…

“I haven’t learnt how yet.” 🤍🧶

I’m always being asked for beginner-friendly crochet projects… and I think this one would be perfect! 👀🧶

I’m thinking about turning my chunky snood into a complete beginner crochet kit. It’s simple to make, works up quickly and you end up with something you can actually wear! 🤍

The kit would include everything you need — chunky yarn, crochet hook and a step-by-step video tutorial where I’ll show you exactly what to do from the very beginning.

And if blue isn’t your colour, there’ll be 11 colours to choose from!

Good news & bad news from Yarn Shop UK today… 😂📦

The GOOD news 🎉 I’ve packed loads of your weekend orders AND some of your September pre-orders are ready to go too! 🤍

The BAD news… Royal Mail were supposed to collect this lot today and they didn’t turn up. 😬

Which means I currently have approximately ZERO room to move and my house is starting to look suspiciously like a Royal Mail depot. 😂📦📦📦

I’ve asked for an extra BIG collection tomorrow to take all of these… plus everything else I’ll have ready by then! 😅

Has anyone got a spare Royal Mail van? 🚐😂

Have you ever wondered why there’s a little knot in the end of your Bobbiny cord? 👀🧶

It’s there to show you which end to pull from!

Pull from the knotted end and your cord feeds straight from the centre of the ball — so you can leave the label on and keep everything neatly together while you crochet. 🙌

No ball rolling around the floor and much less chance of it getting tangled! 🤍

Such a clever little detail… did you know this, or did you find out the hard way?

A little September pre-order update! 🤍🧶

Things have been VERY busy behind the scenes getting all of your crochet kits ready, and I’m really pleased to say that lots of them are nearly ready to go! 🎉📦

We’re just waiting for one final delivery of crochet hooks and, as soon as they arrive, a huge batch of your pre-orders will be heading out — earlier than originally expected! 🤍

I’ve also had a few messages this weekend about the estimated delivery date showing on order confirmation emails. Shopify automatically adds this based on our usual delivery times and unfortunately doesn’t recognise that these kits were sold as September pre-orders, due to dispatch around mid-September.

So, if your email is showing an August delivery date, please ignore it. Your order isn’t delayed — quite the opposite! 🥳 I’m sorry for any confusion the automatic date has caused.

You’ll receive your dispatch notification as soon as your kit is on its way. 📦🧶🤍
