Just to confirm the JULY BIG BAND CONCERT FEATURING EASY STREET BIG BAND IS ON 15th JULY at Poynton Legion and we look forward to see you all.

Please find below the July poster (more than a bit late so sorry) due to the Legion informing us that due to an afternoon same day booking for the room being extended into the evening the room would not be available for the concert as planned on the 22nd July

All the publicity posters flyers had been prepared and Hootin Annie Big Band committed to the 22nd so when I contacted the band the leader said the band could not the 15th
‘What a blow’ fortunately Easy Street Big Band
Said they were available and l thanked Paul the leader and his band

As most of our supporters are aware we in common with many other events are lacking in sufficient numbers attending live concerts the June concert only attracting an audience of around 20.

Please make every effort also tell your friends to attend the July concert

Thanks to all our supporters and new friends who enjoyed the May concert last night with a much improved audience of 45 in number.

We could not confirm the date of next month’s concert as we were having difficulties with band availability by the usual flyers.

So on the night Ian announced that Phil and the New Lights Big Band would do the 24th June concert and we are really appreciative of their gesture to help us out and once again put on a really good concert

I will confirm with new posters, flyers and information on our web site page as soon as this is available so once again play your part in this difficult task of
‘Getting b—s on seats’ and telling your friends what they are missing.

Stay safe and well John and Ian

Just a reminder that the next concert features the New Lights Big Band at Poynton Legion on Friday the 27th May commencing at 8.00pm.

So please once again, we ask you now the better weather and lighter nights are here, make every effort to attend with your friends and all newcomers what promises to be a concert to remember.

It is with great pleasure that we are able to tell you all that straight from his usual success at the Monday afternoon concert at the Plaza Theatre, Stockport Andy Powell has sent the following message which we share with you all.

**glad you are carrying on John, I will be joining the New Lights on the 27th so hopefully I can bring a few. see you then pal.**

Andy has been and is a keen supporter of live Big Band Swing Concerts and has sung at a number of our concerts in the past.
He shares our efforts and hopes that there must be a future for live Big Band Swing music and song.

At the concert on the 27th May New Lights under the direction of one of our main supporters Phil Steadman, all who are equally passionate about keeping Big Band Swing music and song live and Andy will be joining vocalists Georgia and Marilyn, a real treat three top class vocalists.

This aim and its success depend on one of Ian’s sayings ‘Audience participation’( in this case of leaving your favourite chair and the tele and coming along with your friends to this not to be missed concert.
All newcomers are most welcome.

Best wishes Ian and John

Todays the night of a most important big band concert as to whether Ian and John will continue bringing to you the monthly concerts

Please come and support us as the audience numbers will be the
determining factor

P.s many thanks to Andy at his last mondays early afternoon concert at the Plaza Stockport for the ‘plug’ and his later post on his Facebook site
‘What’s good enough for Andy should be good enough for us all’

Thanks to all our supporters who attended the concert featuring the Easy Street Big Band who were treated to a great night.

Unfortunately the attendance was disappointing and we need much bigger audiences to make all the efforts worthwhile to keep these monthly concerts viable.

Please make every effort with your friends to attend the next concert featuring Dr Jazz and the Cheshire Cats.
