🎭 COULD YOU BE OUR STANLEY & BRENDA? 🎭

We’re looking for two actors in their 30s–40s to play the married couple Stanley and Brenda Parker in our upcoming production of A Bedfull of Foreigners by Dave Freeman, directed by Janine Richards.

👩 BRENDA PARKER

Practical, sensible and increasingly exasperated by the chaos unfolding around her! Brenda is hoping for a relaxing holiday in France with her husband, Stanley, but things very quickly take a turn for the ridiculous.

A role with plenty of comedy, physicality and quick-paced interaction.

👨 STANLEY PARKER

Well-meaning but rather easily confused, Stanley has a knack for finding himself in increasingly ridiculous situations. His attempts to make sense of what’s happening only seem to make matters worse!

A brilliant role for someone who enjoys physical comedy and playing a wonderfully hapless character.

Both roles are for actors in their 30s–40s and are central to the chaos of this classic British farce.

If you think you could be our Stanley or Brenda, send us a message or email [email protected] 🤙

🩸 THE CASE CLOSES TONIGHT… 🩸

After a week of mystery, mayhem, mistaken identities and more red herrings than Inspector Pratt knows what to do with… tonight is the final performance of Murdered to Death!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the production. Thanks to your incredible support, every performance has sold out, and we can’t wait to welcome one final audience to Bagshot House this evening.

We were also delighted to welcome the Mayor of Poynton, Hayley, to our opening night performance. Thankfully, she escaped Bagshot House without becoming a suspect (or a victim!), and we’d like to thank her for taking the time to support Poynton Players and local theatre in our community 💕

And yes… Inspector Pratt may have been under pressure, but thanks to our brand-new air conditioning, at least nobody had to solve the mystery in the heat! ❄️

Before the curtain falls one last time, here’s a final look at our wonderful cast:

🎩 Pauline Birch – Mildred Bagshot
🌼 Sarah Morgan – Dorothy
🫖 Peter Lancaster – Bunting
🎖️ Steve Heritage – Colonel Charles Craddock
💍 Lesley Jones – Margaret Craddock
👒 Fleur Boxall – Elizabeth Hartley-Trumpington
🥖 Richard Comish – Pierre Marceau
🔎 Pat Short – Joan Maple
👮‍♀️ Jennie Lewis – Constable Thomkins
🕵️ Geoff Bird – Inspector Pratt

A huge thank you also goes to our director, production team, backstage crew, front of house volunteers and everyone who has worked so hard behind the scenes to bring this wonderfully chaotic comedy to life.

Now, if you’ll excuse us… Inspector Pratt has another theory, the butler is looking nervous, and someone really ought to check the drinks cabinet… 🍸

See you at Bagshot House for one last mystery!

Just 3 days until opening night of Murdered to Death!

The suspects have been introduced.
The clues have been gathered.
The investigation is underway.

Now there’s only one man for the job… or is there?

🎭 Geoff Bird as Inspector Pratt
🩸 “In charge… allegedly”

Called in to solve the mysterious events at Bagshot House, Inspector Pratt arrives determined to crack the case and catch the culprit.

The only problem?

Inspector Pratt isn’t exactly known for his flawless detective work… 🙄

Will he uncover the truth before it’s too late, or will the suspects stay one step ahead?

A huge thank you to everyone for the incredible support and enthusiasm for the production. We can’t wait to welcome audiences to Bagshot House this week and finally reveal whodunnit!

🩸 SUSPECT #9 🩸

The police have finally arrived at Bagshot House! 🚔

With tensions rising and suspects everywhere, it’s time to meet the first official representative of the law…

🎭 Jennie Lewis as Constable Thomkins
🩸 “Here to help. Hopefully.”

Constable Thomkins is ready to assist with the investigation and bring some order to the chaos. But with a house full of eccentric suspects and a baffling murder to solve, that’s easier said than done!

Will Thomkins help crack the case, or will the mystery prove too much to handle?

With opening night almost here, there’s now only one person left to meet…

👀 Inspector Pratt is coming.
