Have you ever thought about joining a local theatre group.

I wanted to for years, but was just too shy, (honestly). But a friend took me to a script reading, and I never looked back.

Guilsfield ADS are a friendly group of people from all walks of life and are always looking for new members to join the gang.

You don't have to be an actor to get involved in theatre.

There are many vital background roles, without which, the play just doesn't happen.

Obviously, we are always happy to have new actors too, so if you want to get involved, in any capacity, comment below or message us and we look forward to inviting you along.

We had a great weekend at the Montgomeryshire Community Drama Association One Act Play Festival. Newtown High School, Powys entered 2 very promising groups on the Friday night, while The LADS gave us two very thought provoking plays, Remote Control, written by Margaret Kynaston, and The Picnic, by Anthony Horowitz; each thoroughly engaging, and between them, they deservedly picked up Best Director, Best Presentation, and a 3 way tie for Best Actor between Marg Kynaston, Pauline Rhodes and Judith Townsley.
GADS didn't leave empty handed. Our Tonia Davies won the adjudicator award, for delivering a brilliant performance with her heartfelt, one breath (almost) speech, and our props department delivered once again by winning the gorgeous Andrew Logan Award for Creativity!

Thank you to all the people that made this event a success

T minus two: trouble at t’mill

In ‘50s Nottingham, John Player’s to***co factory was one of the main employers, and for women and girls a place among the 11,000-strong workforce as one of Player’s ‘angels’ was a sought-after job – one with good wages, benefits, and a certain cache. However, working conditions among the machinery on the factory floor meant that it was also a job with a measure of risk, dot, dot, dot!

'Player’s Angels' opens this Friday (6 March) at the Green School Little Theatre, Llanrhaeadr YM. The doors and cash bar will be open from 7:00pm, and the performance will begin at 7:30pm.

The production continues its run on the evenings of 7, 13, and 14 March, and on 15 March there’ll be a special Mother’s Day matinee, when all mothers in the audience will be treated to a complimentary slice of cake and a glass of bubbly or cup of tea. Doors for the matinee open at 2:30pm for a 3:00pm curtain.

Tickets (ÂŁ10 adults, ÂŁ5 under-16s) are available from Greatorex Stores and The Paper Shop, Lllanrhaeadr ym Mochnant; Siop Eirianfa, Penybontfawr; and from Upstairs Downstairs, Oswestry. You can also book tickets through Izzy Roberts t: 07850 185750 e: [email protected].
